Traveling across country and found this gem! We accessed the park via westbound Hwy 80 and although traffic was heavy, there were plenty of stoplights to safely cross the eastbound lanes into the park. Arriving late afternoon on a Wednesday we found the new managers, Trish and Blake eager to help direct us to our pull-through site (#402 - crushed rock, level and 120' to accommodate our big rig plus long trailer). The utility connections were perfectly placed for easy access providing strong 50 amp service and although we did not use it, they offered complimentary wi-fi and cable TV connections. The amenities included a large bathhouse with ADA-accessible showers & toilets, fee-based washers & dryers, community "Grill Hub", concrete fire pit area with comfy Adirondack chairs, a large covered "Hangout" with (tall tables and even a TV) plus a catch & release lake! The other patrons appeared to be a mix of overnight travelers, families and extended stay RVers. After a peaceful nights rest, we awoke to birds chirping and the gentle hum of a distant train. Exiting the park to access Hwy 80 west appeared to be a challenge, however Trish & Blake directed us to take a right turn out of the park, a quick left turn into a large Circle K parking lot with large driveway access to westbound Hwy 80. Easy!! Looking forward to our next opportunity to enjoy all that this RV park has to offer!

Backyard has been a stopping place for the last 8 years. It is so convenient for us on our way to Gulf Shores and later Florida. It’s easy to exit 65 South or North and only minutes from the Interstate. Clean restrooms, laundry, plenty of water pressure, 30/50 amp service, WiFi, and cable tv. It’s moderately priced and well worth it. I give it a 10 out of 10.

Not bad. Not in a great location, but we didn't have any problems either. A bunch of the fence has fallen down which gives a feeling of junky and lack of security. Inside the campground there is a cool hangout area with plenty of yard games for the family. We had fun. The manager was a bit abrupt when he saw us driving around. He didn't realize we were registered and was not welcoming. The lady in the office was a gem though. The bathrooms have different codes for men's and women's, good thinking. But they have us both codes, which we needed, so I'm not sure it really matters...?

Very nice place to stop overnight. Good facilities. Awkward to get to from SB I65. Be sure to register before office closes. When we stopped it took 3 people 40 minutes to register online.

Great location. Within walking distance to food. Safe and comfortable. Bathrooms and showers nice.

Just off the highway. Pulled in for 1 night. Area was a little sketchy and entrance was not well marked. Good value for the price.

This is a REALLY NICE RV park. It is an oasis from the harsh world just outside its doors. Could use a security gate with a key pad for guests. The buildings are very nice on the exterior. The showers and laundry need a freshing up on the interior. It does not have the polish nor the cleanliness level I've seen at fine RV parks throughout the country. The outdoor spaces and thoight put into activities are well done. The hangout and the grilling hub are top-notch. Very much about the experience. I'm very impressed. Unfortunately, while we were there, a man was gunned down and killed in the exact spot I should have been sitting outside of Popeye's. It makes you STOP and reflect. Should I share this? I decided to share it because I would want to know. It is not the fault of the owners of the RV Park. They just happen to be located where it happened.

Very convenient right off the highway. But like I said right off the highway. Jake brakes, trucks and cars all night long. Good for a night stay. Easy pull through.

Place smells of sewage, camp staff in the office is as rude as they come. It's extremely dark with limited light around the park. You may book a site you want, only to be moved the day before your trip. If you're lucky enough you'll miss the shootings that happen right outside the main gate of the park. It's in a rather rough part of town. The ONLY perk or positive thing about this park is the location proximity to the interstate.

The staff was kind and helpful. The area with gang gunfire and murders was horrible. A small army of police and helicopters surrounded the RV PARK Looking for the bad guys. We were later told by numerous people that gun fire is common here. We will never return!!
