Been coming to Prairie Creek for 15 years. One of my favorite spots. The Alabama River is so majestic and Thriving with Wildlife. Lots of Deer in the Campground itself. Halloween is also a awesome time for the families. See you in Lowndes!!

Staff awesome and spent quite a bit of time deliberating on which campsite would best fit our desires. The place is FULL of amazing sites right on the water with views and/or shared fishing docks. The walk-in tent sites on the peninsula are incredible and even have water/electric all the way to the point. We saw deer and jumping paddlefish, lots of birds. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is that our site had a ginormous ant colony and we spent a lot of time fighting them back in our travel trailer. This was our very first trip so we were not prepared with a caulk gun or any kind of ant deterrents. Be sure to bring some (lots of great ideas around the web). Other than that it was a great campground and we can't wait to come back with the kids.

Prairie Creek is a great little gem out in the middle of rural Alabama. The water sites are so nice. There are courtesy piers for fishing and good ole laziness. The sites are set up very nice, but there isn't any sewer. There is plenty of room to get to the dump station. I enjoyed walking around and hiking through the woods. This is an excellent base for boating, fishing, and kayaking. The boat ramp is top not notch and there is plenty of room to park. The water views have been made very nice, due to the hard work of the awesome volunteers. Alot of the spaces are shaded really well and over all, I totally enjoyed my stay. The staff is awesome and they really keep everything up in the right way.

Arrived after hours. No one was at entrance, but there was no envelopes to leave $$. Also, instructions said to pick a site without a pink or yellow tag at post. Almost all of them had this- and it was 9 pm! Not sure why. But- we found a site and it very nice. The campground is large and very pretty. Did not use bathrooms/ showers so can’t comment on them

Beautiful location. Quiet with tent to RV accommodations. Water and electric. Boat launch and docks around the sites. I don't fish but it looks very active.
