This was a great park, the camp host were super nice, we had campsite 50 with a beautiful view of the lake, very quite park not many sites taken. The bathhouse was clean the only thing in the ladies bathroom the soap dispenser was broken . We would for sure stay here again on our way to Gulf Shores, we only stayed one night. There isn't much in the surrounding area to do. PJV

This is another of the COE's fantastic campgrounds right on the Alabama River for $13/night with America the Beautiful Pass. Spots were shaded with nice separation. Our site was a long concrete driveway with 30A and water. Dump station can take two vehicles at once, one from each direction. The check in staff were friendly and very helpful with directions and other information. We stayed at the end of December and had several rainy days in a row. Then we had a steady stream of sugar ants invading the rig! The numerous ant mounds everywhere should have been a clue! We learned from the locals that you have to spray insecticide on anything that touches the ground or trees including tires, hoses, lines. Three weeks later and we're still cleaning them up. We did the Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail as well as the Tuskegee Institute and Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Sites .

Very nicely maintained campground! Bathrooms are clean with good water heat and pressure. Nearly every site has a view of the water. Very dark and quiet at night. Close to hunting and fishing opportunities. Definitely recommend!

Well maintained campground. Most sites are long, spacious with water views. Has 2 playgrounds, although they are kind of old and dingy but they seemed safe. Views of the Alabama river were awesome. Tons of wildlife viewing, with lots egrets and blue herons. Selma is a short drive away and had everything you could need. I loved how flat and spacious the campground was, it made for great bike riding. Beware if it's hunting season, there is a lot of hunting going on nearby and many people use the campground as a hunting camp. I had to shield my kids from watching a neighboring camper clean a deer. It is Alabama during hunting season. Only real con for me was there wasn't much to do there, no hiking trail. Verizon signal was great in the main peninsula part of the campground, the cove part of the campground didn't really get signal. They do have coin laundry facilities and bathrooms were nice.
