Having a very nice week here at Cherokee ❤ Pleasant down home feeling! This would be our camp of choice when passing through again.

We had to move from another park in Birmingham to Cherokee due to them being sold out in advance for a big sports event, and we needed a place quickly. The owners of this park are all gems! They got us a spot so quick! It's a family run business and the family is wonderful! We had hoped to stay there for 5-6 months but we got transferred after just 1 month. We wish we could have stayed longer! There are alot of full-timers but everyone keeps their space up nicely. It's a very wooded and scenic area. And it's a good deal to boot! It's the best of all worlds! You cannot go wrong staying here or dealing with this wonderful family! Thank you for being so accommodating! Chris and Deidra Gist

Nice campground tucked away from major roads. We stopped here for the night on our travels home. Very nice owner. Allowed us to stay 1 night during everyone else's "holiday weekend" 3 night mandate. We will definitely stay again if traveling that way. Thanks Cherokee!

I love how nice and peaceful it is here. The fishing is good. For the money you can't beat it. Thank you Cherokee campground.

Five stars for the very kind and friendly greeting and escort to site. But have to take away three stars for appearance...bumpy, sort of washed out roads, 99% permanent dwellers, many with stuff outside around their rigs, and just the overall appearance that comes across as not caring what the grounds look like. This was just an overnight rest stop only. Add 1/2 a star for the quiet and undisturbed night. Nice folks, but sorry to say dumpy park.

Well maintained, family run place that provides a nice space for you and your rig. Appreciation for current and prior military shown through generous rate discount. Park like environment with fishing pond and short walking trail. No other recreational amenities noticed by me.

This is the quietest campground I have ever stayed in. Its nestled in the woods. My site was pretty level and shaded. Everyone was very polite and welcoming. They honor Passport America. It was perfect for me, passing thru, was able to get good night sleep.

Very ran down campground. Alot of rules ive never heard of. Looking at other reviews from two years ago about the wifi issue and the lighting excuse given then is the same excuse we were given. Makes you wonder if there ever was wifi to begin with. If lighting hit wifi. Two years ago then why isnt it fixxed? If you dont plan to fix it then please stop advertise that you have it. Some people travel full time and work on line and depend on wifi to make a living. If i had known there was no wifi when making a reservation i would of went else where. Also i have noticed every neg review given the owner or manager responds with a smart remark. So before before you say i didnt have a reservation here ill let you know upfront my reservation was in my wife name not mine.

They were able to squeeze us in last minute. Lovely people. Heading back thru that way soon.

This was a perfect campground for us. It was a one night stop on our way to Florida. Easy in and easy out. Owners are very friendly. Will stop there again next year.

Good place to park for a little bit or long term

Nice people. The park does need some updating and there are a lot of long term residents. I'm primarily giving 3 stars due the speed limit in the park. It's 15 mph which is, in my opinion, way too fast with kids playing and people walking. I was walking my dog one night and someone came within a few feet of me doing at least 25 and observed many others going just as fast.

This place is a nice family-run establishment and I love the fact that they are not afraid to publicize their love for Jesus. In this day and age it is so rare and I give them much respect for it. I will say that this place is not how I remember it as a child but that was many many years ago and what can you expect?? It is still very nice for camping, I just wish that the lake was still able to be used.
