We had an amazing experience staying at Desert Trails RV Park, from the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly, Jesse the Park Manager is very welcoming, helpful and always greets everyone with a smile. Check-in was smooth, and we were given a spacious, well-maintained site with easy hookups. The park itself is clean, quiet, and beautifully maintained. The amenities were clean, restrooms and showers, a well-kept laundry facility, and our site had a strong Wi-Fi, which was a huge plus! The dog park was a great bonus for our pup, and we loved the walking trails nearby. One of the highlights was the sense of community—everyone was friendly, and there were fun activities to join. The location was also perfect, with great access to local attractions, restaurants, and scenic views. Overall, we highly recommend Desert Trails to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We will definitely be back!

I’m giving Desert Trails 5 stars for the following reasons; location to hiking and biking trails right out from the park with gorgeous desert & cactus, beautiful surrounding mountains, a feeling of remoteness from traffic and busy roads (yes, San Joaquin Road can be noisy so getting a site farther from there is necessary in my opinion), and very dog friendly. But the number 1 reason we keep coming back every winter is the community! These are healthy, active, laid back, welcoming people who make this feel like our 2nd home. Jesse, the manager, does a great job of trying to accommodate everyone. It is an aging park with quirks and issues from time to time but the pluses fully negate the minuses in our opinion. If you like the feeling of being in a park with access to amazing trail systems and wonderful people, this is your place. If you prefer sitting in your RV in a fancy fully paved park, this probably isn’t your style.

Your awning will hit your neighbors RV. Yes, the sites are that small. The pool is broken, and appears to have broken quite some time ago. If you still want to stay here, stay as far from the road as you can. The road is just beyond noisy and the neighborhood dogs never, never stop. We have a dog, we are dog people, it’s not that. If you’re staying here to visit Tucson, just know the traffic on this end of town is ridiculous. I’m not usually one to complain about a park, but this place oversells itself and just haves a weird vibe. I will not be staying here again and would not recommend any else does until they put some money into the place.

A great place to call home. We'll be returning next year for an extended stay. Too many pluses to list.

This season they are pussy footing around with overflowing septic systems. The owners do not want to pay for repair of basically anything and now there is a major issue with raw sewage backing up out the dump at various sites. So we cannot dump and so far nothing has been done to remedy this issue. Do the patrons need to call and report this park to the health department?

Been here for just over two months now. And coming back next yr for 4 months. Leaving 5/1. Great old park. Tons of hiking within 10 to 15 minutes or right from the park. Downtown Tucson is just a hop over hills. Relatively close to various shopping centers. Something here for everyone. Food trucks come 3 days out of the week. Tons of activities. Pool. Bands. Just all around a great campground.

We pulled in after a long stressful day. One site was offered then the lady said, I think that's too small. Put us in a pricier site that was undeveloped and dirty. The first site offered was big enough for us... felt like she just wanted to get the extra $10 a night. Shameful. Lots of empty lots... probably because the raised the rates and that pissed people off and they left. $1,000 per month is excessive for this place.

Stayed here for a month from February 15 to March 14, 2024. Thought it was a great place, great experience with management and other rv’er’s. Lots of activities, pool was heated and nice. Bathrooms and showers always clean. Grounds were in good shape and clean. Desert is right next door. This was our first experience in an rv park for the winter and we reserved for 2 months next year. We felt very safe here and it is a quiet 🤫 park.

I like the friendly, quiet environment, the food trucks, and the easy access to Tucson Mountain Park and Saguaro National Park with all the hiking trails. Dec 2022: Back again! That says something. Nov 2023: Back again! Nov 2024: Back again for the fourth year!

Let me start off by saying I called desert trails RV park home for a year . They went up on my rent at least two times I was charged the deposit and I moved in when my rent come to the second month Jesse was nowhere to be found and her husband messed it up and Jesse thinks that she's able to go into your bank account and start charging what she doesn't tell you is every card that you use on the premises she keeps on a computer and goes in there and hits you with penalties and fees and whatever she sees fit.. the park is dark very very few lights and they lead you to believe that there's a security team out there which there is not the guy comes out once in awhile if Jesse calls him otherwise there's no security you have people that drive through the park still and stuff so you better keep it all chained down there's mobile homes inside the park that Jesse claims or not for rent and she only been some to selective people I needed a cabin for 6 months so my mom could come out of ICU and Jesse told me that she could not rent me a cabin for 6 months that they did not do them long-term and then I find out that there's a guy that's living in a cabin that's been there for a year it's owned by some brothers that are into it for the money only they don't really want to hear you they don't really have any way of contacting them it's all top secret. The park fills up with Rich folks that think they run the place and Jesse allows us to go on so they have a Monday morning b**** session so they judge everybody on the cars and trucks and stuff that you have. I moved in late winter and wasn't told that when summer come that the park would empty out and the classes the food trucks everything would come to a stop except they wanted full rent for the whole entire summer with no discount and it absolutely nothing to do The showers are nice but there's no fans or ACS so it's a sweat box the TV room has two nice size TVs but they overheat in the summer so you can't watch them they shut off and Jesse just doesn't want to hear about it the internet is kept at a low grade lockdown so you can forget about using it cuz it froze you off I was asked to take my truck and park it in the storage area because it wasn't new enough for all the little Rich folks that Jesse was willing to kiss their butt for their money .. it is a beautiful Park but they don't maintain it. They allowed it to grow into a cactus jungle with weeds The park is owned by four or five people out of Phoenix that absolutely dumped no money into this place is really sad!!! 30 amp spot that was not level costed me $950 each month.. I just can't believe that they think it's okay to go into your credit card or your bank card and make changes without contacting you first. .... She will tell you that it's her rights as the park manager Here's an example Management thinks they can just charge your cards Park's not maintained full weeds For the cost of the park the only thing is nice is the pool The gym the pool hall and the TV room are not usable when it's hot outside only refuses to put AC in the windows My advice is possibly find a different Park I would not suggest this one at all the manager and her husband are both pretty hateful Yes I would love for the owners to contact me but I don't believe they will They keep your deposit Jesse where is my deposit???

The park borders on 2 huge parks for easy access to the desert. The manager, Jesse, works tirelessly to help the residents in every possible way.. She is warm, kind and professional, going the extra mile is standard in her daily approach to residents and managing the office. Jesse knows everyone by name and is always ready to lend a warm smile and helping hand.
