Desert Trails RV Park

Great location with walk-in access to Tucson Mountain Park, and a short drive or ride to the Desert Museum and Saguaro National Monument West. Literally miles of walking trails connect to the park. Large back-in lots With utilities that work, beautiful views and great desert scenery. It looked like the new owners are having to catch up with years of neglected maintenance to the landscaping and buildings. This will be a great park again when they have trimmed the palm trees, painted the buildings and fixed the pool. They are working hard and Desert Trails is a good place to explore the best of Tucson.

This RV Park is in a beautiful location but facilities are overpriced and poor. There is no security here, bathrooms are unlocked, Mail and packages are outside in the open and subject to theft. Internet is very poor and non existent. No TV Cable. Pool is small and hot tub is closed. Water line has been poorly installed and subject to line breaks. All of this being said, the efforts of the winter visitors is commendable and many volunteers make an effort to make your stay pleasant. This RV Park is acceptable for short stays only and is not a snow bird destination.

We really enjoyed our stay two years ago. We made arrangements then to return again for the 2021 season. We made a $100 deposit to hold. When covid forced us to change plans for 2021, I called and had my deposit applied to our 2022 stay. I called today, and guess what? No deposit. Changed owners. Too bad couldn't refund. Never did get far enough to learn if we actually even had a reservation at all. I wondered why the website seemed less friendly and the prices were up so much. We won't be back.

Wow. One of the better RV parks in Tucson. Even though it's 20 minutes outside of Tucson it's worth it. Quiet, very minimal road noise. Food trucks will come in, there's a dog park, laundry and shower services, and trails for biking or walking. Best part the people are really friendly and accommodating.

We have been here few times and paid $32,00 a night. This year 10/29/2021 park is under new management. $45,00 a night, no cash only creditcard. WiFi is a laugh. A lot of snowbirds coming in at the moment. Bathroom is nice and good hot shower. Bit pricey though. Park seems a little rundown. Swimmingpool is a mess with all chairs and beds broken. I think that was our last visit. It's a returning phenomena. New management->higher prices immediately->no upgrade of the property. Upgrade first and then raise your prices.

If you enjoy listening to DOGS BARKING, stay here. Read other reviews about the noise from dogs! It's not just me. I've been listening to it for hours! It's midnight. I am beyond annoyed!

Well if you come 'off season' meaning NOT between Nov - Feb...the Amenities are limited. Pool closed, rec room was partially open for Bingo today. Roads newly asphalt, sites tight and close together, many long-term RVers from now[ mid/late October ] till March. The electric water hookups seems , confusing, appears to share poles but doable. Old pinic tables . No firepits or grills. Need to be over 40 yr to stay, dogs allow.no kids. Friendly front staff in tiny office. There's no camp store. And place / entrance is NOT Lit ..we almost miss the entrance ,last night co.i g back from. TUSCAN after dark! Oh this is outside of Tuscan proper too. Bring own food as no good grocery shopping nearby. Gas station fairly close. Heard barking dogs in the distance and road noise, not too bad all 3 nights ,but we were placed near the front of the park. At back of park have skinny access trails into the Saguaro cactus preserve. The 'real' good stuff ,we discovered in the SW don't really starts till November. When the weekly food trucks visits.

New owners just decided to go against the Pima County mask mandate. This was a safe place to stay up until three days ago. The first day I encountered a woman in the laundry with no mask and no comprehension of social distancing.

Our favorite RV park! Great location, price is right and people are super friendly. It backs up to some pretty fabulous desert trails that lead to the mountain park. There are also good food trucks (Mexican, Italian, bbq) that come 3 days a week. They have hot showers, laundry, water, ice machine, 2 dog parks, a warm swimming pool and full hook ups. The favorite part of our stay were the 2 resident owls that come out every night at dusk.

Very nice people. They definitely pack you in like sardines but that is typical of RV parks so if you are used to that, it is fine, just not our thing. Great access to trails for hiking and mountain biking. My only real complaint is they advertise wifi. We walked around and connected to several of their hotspots. None of them worked for us or our friends who were staying in another spot. Don’t advertise wifi if you don’t really have it, that is very frustrating.

Really nice RV park. Good showers and laundry. Really great hiking trails connected to the park. Friendly staff that loaned us a 50amp adapter our first night. Very good value for the price. Water pressure is not great and they don't let you stream on the wifi. Overall the wifi is pretty bad.

Fantastic park. Sites are a decent size for a private park. There are tons of things to do here and there is a daily calendar of events. Trails through the desert are fantastic. And the water is city and cleaner than I am generally used to.

Love this quirky little place! Friendly people, miles of hiking and biking right out of our doorsteps. Great location just far enough out of the traffic of Tucson. The desert sunsets are amazing. There are food trucks many days from 3-6. One visit and you'll vow to return!
