What a find.....250 sites and only 25 filled. Winter is the full season here. Pool...library...gym...crafts...wild life galore if your into that ad well. Now...late May...days at mid 90's...night cool down a lot. Staying for long weekend....

Desert Trails stands out unique among RV parks for many reasons, one being the eponymous trails. From your campsite it's a few steps into the beautiful Sonoran Desert. You can wander around the local (extensive) trail network, or you can get adventurous and hike or bike all the way to the mountains of Saguaro National Park! Don't expect the campsites to be laid out in boring tidy rows here. The park's history has dictated an organic kind of layout, with an organic kind of expansion, so that from the air parts of the park look like the RVs were tossed from above like pickup sticks (remember those?). I like it. The management is passionate about people's happiness. I like that too. Winter residents of Desert Trails come from Canada, Alaska, Minnesota, and every other cold place on earth (I met numerous Germans, Swedes, etc passing through), and return every year. In fact, in mid-winter the park is a de facto village, with a busy schedule of organized activities and great entertainment. If you want to stay there, you'd better get your reservation early. Seasonal reservations open in February.

We stayed here a couple years ago. It's priced like everything else in the area (expensive) but it does have two nice shower facilities, a dog run, and community things. However, the road is TIGHT, there are no clear direction or exit signs, and it's easy to get stuck. To top it off, they discriminate— we can't go there anymore because we have a baby. I guess if you fit in their age bracket, it's an OK spot. It's nicer than Crazy horse RV.

Nice place to RV camp in Tucson area. Tight closeness to other camper at some sites compared to others. Camped next to the Rec Hall on a Saturday night. Noisy that night beyond 10:00 pm. Nice hiking trail through adjacent desert area. Would stay here again.

I stayed at Desert Trails last year 2013 and found the owner very friendly and accomodating, picking out a really nice site at my request, after telling me to look around and choose one. Just as people told me he recalled my name a few weeks later after that one meeting in the office! There were lots of organized activites and the music acts that came in were outstanding. The park is homey and comfortable, the people friendly. Connects right up to desert hiking and close to the Desert Museum, one of the top places I have visited. I especially enjoyed the natural setting, large blooming cacti right in the park, birds going in and out of my campsite, owls heard every night and seen in the daytime, the quiet, and the sunsets.

We have stayed at over 200 RV parks in north america and have not found a park like this one. Many people come every season. There are more activities than you have time to enjoy. Have met many new friends while staying. This is our 7th year. Will be back. PS. No one on the staff including the owner has a golf cart.

This park has a great connection with the customers. Every Monday morning the owner holds a meeting that is standing room only to discuss events, to get feed back and to keep in touch with his clientele. It is not a "stuffy" park and it's not a "loser" park. We ran into so many people who said they came for a few days and booked their whole season and are now repeats. We feel the same way! We came in for a week but had other plans made so we're moving on, but we will be back. There are a lot of activities within the park and in the surrounding area. Lots of hiking and biking. Near to shopping, Old Tucson and Sonora Arizona desert museum. I hate to be so positive in case it gets difficult to book in here!

Exceptionally friendly place to stay. This is my second visit. The staff is warm and people tend to return every year. It feels like coming home even though we're newcomers. I love the Monday doughnuts and get together @ 9. The owner's announcements verge on a stand-up comedy routine! I'm not retired but this place makes it look like fun!
