Late reservation due to long travel day so partly my fault for not doing more research on this property. But the lady on the reservation line lied to me in saying that the site I reserved was 40ft long. She sounded like she had been drinking too much or something. The phone call took about 30 minutes because she kept repeating herself. The sites are super snug together but the area is nice. Parks and ball fields all around. Needs better management.

Our reservation was for one (1) night, a Sunday. On Saturday, we learned we could not keep the reservation and attempted to contact the campground to cancel. However, we were directed to the reservation line- 605-275-1980- which is only available Monday - Friday. We tried the campground direct line, and again were advised to contact the number above, which had no voicemail options, nor any option to change the reservation.||||We have never encountered this type of service at any campground in the country. ||Therefore, we were charged for the night because no way to cancel.||||We will NEVER attempt a stay here again, and will post our negative experience on every review site on the Internet.

This was a great camping space it's pretty much just a big parking lot but no one bothers you any size camper will fit they're just fine with an extra car it's very easy to make your reservations online and pick your spot I highly recommend it

Like other reviewers noted, this place has no real management. We show up at the end of a long day on the road expecting to pull right into the spot we picked close to the splash park and there's another camper in our spot, with no one answering when we knocked. We then drive around comparing open spots to ones that looked available online in an attempt to park in a spot that didn't result in someone knocking on our door because we took their spot. We realized during this that half the people occupying spots either didn't pay for them or the online map is incorrect, showing the spots as available. Seems like no one here checks anything or cares, and most people here just show up and park, after all who's gonna do anything, right??? Might as well try reserving a spot in a Walmart parking lot and see how that goes, you might actually get better security and get what you paid for there, definitely not here. I'll never be a paying customer here again.

Nice paved sites. Docking station on site 1 and 2 needs repair. Great little find close to downtown Birmingham. Clean. Watch low tree limbs on right side of road off hwy 150.

Went to barbeque event and was very disappointed. No where near the vendors they had predicted. None of the professionals were open for sampling. Several of the non-professionals were out of food within the first 45 minutes after opening. Primarily went to support the cause. Thanks

I was so afraid this would be a concrete jungle but it was not! While there are not a ton of trees the area is still very nice. The management is wonderful and very accommodating! Guy Carney should be commended for doing such an excellent job! We stayed here from January to May and enjoyed every minute. The park had opened right before we left and it was a big hit with the kids! We went everyday! Now the splash pad is open so I'm sure it's even better! The other campers were really nice and friendly. While there are some long term people there most are just passing through. I loved the location. It's just a hop, skip and jump to Target, Publix, Wal-Mart and lots of great restaurants! You will enjoy your stay there! Thanks guy for a great stay!

Good place for teens to practice driving before taking the driver’s license road test or to just get use to the vehicle they will be driving. Also great basketball court at the Finley Recreational Center, where it’s free to play for Hoover residents.

We love to come to Hoover to cheer for our LSU tigers. This Rv park is the perfect location to stay for the Sec baseball tourney. So convenient to the stadium and lots of other activities. ||Gut and his staff are awesome.

The new splash pad and playground are amazing. They did a wonderful job. Lots a shaded spots, benches, and some picnic tables, a large play area. Water fountain that has the water bottle refill option. Recommended!

We just drove through the RV park to look for the new children’s playground. I have heard great things about the RV park from one of my neighbors, though. He owns 3 large RVs and parks one of them there all the time.

This is a very nice facility with a lot of sites. You get 30/50 amps, water, sewer, wi-fi. There is no cable TV, but I found 30+ over the air channels. The site I had was level. There are trash containers at just about every site. The part I enjoyed the most was, peace and quiet. I would return and I do recommend this location.

Headed motorhome back to St. Louis area from 6 week snowbirding in Florida and Alabama with a target stop over just south of Birmingham. Did not attempt to reserve a site until 30 miles from the soft plan destination rv park. Phone call resulted in a 'sorry no vacancy but try Hoover RV Park'. A google and a call to Sioux Falls S D netted a reservation for the night within 15 minutes of the preferred commercial GSC park. On arrival we found the assigned site number 15 of the 170 full hookup paved parking lot sites in the back of the Hoover Metropolitan Sports Complex was occupied by a single auto likely owned by a patron or worker at the Finley fitness center. Another call to SD and the reservationist and I agreed that since there were over a hundred open sites, I would park in site 13 in the shade and a note would be entered in my reservation file in case someone cared. Unfortunatelly after hanging up, pulling into the site and turning on the level-mate the front was 7.5 and 9.5 inches lower than the rear which was also 2 inches out of plumb. Bigfoot levelers on 2x12 wood blocks (per park rules) extended to max in the front required 3 Linx levelers and a cap in the front to support the tires. The 4" sewer fitting was not threaded and I had no doughnut so I stowed the slinky after a quick dump and flush to ensure no unfortunate mishap occurred. As other reviewers note, this is a sports complex asphault parking lot with hookups with No restroom, showers, or pool. It served our overnight need but unless your there for sports activities at the complex or suffer from P3, Cracker Barrel, Home Depot or Wally World can provide a more level parking site, take your $44 in trade and the free dump stations at the I-65 rest stops can lighten your load.

We used this for loading up our RV, as we emptied our apartment, it was somewhat close to where we lived. Easy to reserve online, you pick your site. We got a weekly rate of $220.00 on the website, found out afterwards this honors Good Sam so could of saved some additional money. The sites were long enough for our 38 ft Class A: however our tow dolly/car had to be stored next to it. Full hookups were functional. Has a lg trash can at site, per website emptied daily, this was never emptied the week we were there and was semi-full upon our arrival. There are not employees or a camp host on site. Sports complex has showers/toilets and a walking track none of which we used but were told they close at 9pm. There was green space for our Labrador to utilize as needed. This met our basic needs at the time of our stay.

Great spot to stop over while traveling. Clean and level parking with everything that you need...power, water and sewer. Seems like safe location. Great price too...$40 for the night. Easy to book on line.
