We just drove through the RV park to look for the new children’s playground. I have heard great things about the RV park from one of my neighbors, though. He owns 3 large RVs and parks one of them there all the time.

This is a very nice facility with a lot of sites. You get 30/50 amps, water, sewer, wi-fi. There is no cable TV, but I found 30+ over the air channels. The site I had was level. There are trash containers at just about every site. The part I enjoyed the most was, peace and quiet. I would return and I do recommend this location.

Headed motorhome back to St. Louis area from 6 week snowbirding in Florida and Alabama with a target stop over just south of Birmingham. Did not attempt to reserve a site until 30 miles from the soft plan destination rv park. Phone call resulted in a 'sorry no vacancy but try Hoover RV Park'. A google and a call to Sioux Falls S D netted a reservation for the night within 15 minutes of the preferred commercial GSC park. On arrival we found the assigned site number 15 of the 170 full hookup paved parking lot sites in the back of the Hoover Metropolitan Sports Complex was occupied by a single auto likely owned by a patron or worker at the Finley fitness center. Another call to SD and the reservationist and I agreed that since there were over a hundred open sites, I would park in site 13 in the shade and a note would be entered in my reservation file in case someone cared. Unfortunatelly after hanging up, pulling into the site and turning on the level-mate the front was 7.5 and 9.5 inches lower than the rear which was also 2 inches out of plumb. Bigfoot levelers on 2x12 wood blocks (per park rules) extended to max in the front required 3 Linx levelers and a cap in the front to support the tires. The 4" sewer fitting was not threaded and I had no doughnut so I stowed the slinky after a quick dump and flush to ensure no unfortunate mishap occurred. As other reviewers note, this is a sports complex asphault parking lot with hookups with No restroom, showers, or pool. It served our overnight need but unless your there for sports activities at the complex or suffer from P3, Cracker Barrel, Home Depot or Wally World can provide a more level parking site, take your $44 in trade and the free dump stations at the I-65 rest stops can lighten your load.

We used this for loading up our RV, as we emptied our apartment, it was somewhat close to where we lived. Easy to reserve online, you pick your site. We got a weekly rate of $220.00 on the website, found out afterwards this honors Good Sam so could of saved some additional money. The sites were long enough for our 38 ft Class A: however our tow dolly/car had to be stored next to it. Full hookups were functional. Has a lg trash can at site, per website emptied daily, this was never emptied the week we were there and was semi-full upon our arrival. There are not employees or a camp host on site. Sports complex has showers/toilets and a walking track none of which we used but were told they close at 9pm. There was green space for our Labrador to utilize as needed. This met our basic needs at the time of our stay.

Great spot to stop over while traveling. Clean and level parking with everything that you need...power, water and sewer. Seems like safe location. Great price too...$40 for the night. Easy to book on line.

Love this rv park for an overnight stop. Easy in and out. Convenient location. RV area is within a parking lot with pads that are all 45 ft. Parking tow vehicles and trailers is available in adjacent areas of the complex. Fun atmosphere with sports events within complex.

Great Facility and Awesome Staff that's very helpful. Food court for big events and healthy food options. Also smaller snack bar section for fast visits during events. Highly Reccommended for any sporting event or tournament.

We stayed here over night on a Saturday while traveling from Arkansas to South Carolina. It was easy access, clean and well lit. The last 3 days had been wet and muddy while traveling so the clean asphalt was a welcome sight. We arrived after dark and it was easy to set up our travel trailer because the lighting is great. We have a dog and there is plenty of grassy/mulch areas for them to potty and play. I liked that each site has a trash can, so no excuses not to clean up after your pet and family. The reservations were easy to take of online. We would definitely stay there again.

I guess Google wants me to review this place. We don't have an RV, and only visited this place for the BBQ competition. The location was very well lit with plenty of hook up points. There is a lot of parking so there should be plenty of space for your RV.

A very good stopover location. It's part of a huge Birmingham sports and events complex. Sites are back-to-back, full service, 50 amp pull-throughs in a parking lot adjacent to the sports stadium and event center. It's well lit and has plenty conveniently placed trash containers. There is no security but police patrol the area. We feel quite safe. There's no office or amenities (pool, playground, camp store, etc.). Guests select a site and register online or at the kiosk. We like staying here. Easy off and on I-459.

We came here due to Hurricane Michael. It is probably the perfect overnight stop. It is one large parking lot that was easy to maneuver, even with our 41ft 5th wheel. There are trash cans at each hook up so you dont have to walk to a dumpster. Getting in and out was a breeze.

Interesting place on the back side of a sports complex. You think you are turning into the WRONG place, but just keep going through the big stadium parking lot and you'll see the "RV Parking" area... Great for an overnight, but mostly unmanned place on the side of the park where we were. Ask for a lower numbered space (>60) if you want to be close to the Finley building and facilities...

Excellent place for an overnight stay. It’s a parking lot with full hookups, all pull thru spaces, you can ride your bikes for an exercise or run, no laundry or anything like, no kids activities but my kids didn’t mind, they played ball and rode their bikes anyway. Spaces seems to have 30&50 amps all throughout. The 30 amp on my spaces shut off on me twice so a little touchy since I’ve stayed in other parks the last 7 days with no issues but I wouldn’t fault the site for this. I have a 36ft fifth wheel and parked the pickup sideways in front and it works just fine. Anyway, would stay here again for an overnight stop or if visiting anyone in the area.

6/2018 Update: I upped the review to 3 stars: Water pressure has been increased to a good level so disregard initial review. Secondly, they have lowered the rates to 35/220/725 (daily/weekly/monthly) from those quoted below. That's worthy of the improvement of the rating. There have been heated exchanges among guests with online reservations for a specific site and guests that arrived with no reservation and choose their spot based on vacancies at the time they arrived. Mind you, this place is NEVER full (excepts SEC tournaments) and there is no supervision of arrivals/departures. There is a drop box for you to include payment and site information if you arrive without a reservation or are unaware of online reservations. Neither guest is at fault, it really is a problem trying to function with two different styles of reservation management. Hire a camp host to check in arrivals in light of what reservations have already been made or drop site specific online reservations, chose one or the other and take this burden off guests and their immediate negative feelings about the park and Hoover. Secondly, they are doing construction on the southern most edge of the park with blasting, noise and dust. They start early and work on the weekends if weather permits. It can be noisy and dirty. Yesterday a blast sent mud/dirt/small rocks in the air and hit 3 coaches parked on the construction side. If you don't like that, park closest to the building. You have been warned. PLEASE NOTE if it is HOT outside: you are parked on asphalt and heat radiating off the surface is tremendous. Be sure your AC's are in good working order ESPECIALLY if you are leaving pets in your camper during the day or at a minimum have a way to check inside temps in case it gets too hot for your fur babies! ORIGINAL REVIEW First the good - the park is close to I-459 and easy on/off for travelers. All sites provide full hookups. It is located in the midst of a plethora of commercial facilities from quaint boutiques to Wal-Mart and Costco just a couple of miles away...convenience galore! Now the bad - since the park re-opened 6/2017, water pressure is remarkably low so much so that flushing and washing hands at the same time is dismal. Sites are short, our 45 ft motorhome hangs out front and back and that is without our tow car but sites are wide enough to pull the car to the side and out of the pathways. There is no cable TV and internet is like most other parks, spotty and slow. However it is located close enough to Birmingham that you can get local channels over the air if you have an antenna. Most all sites are deceivingly sloped and leveling can put your steps a bit high. There is no shade to speak of, mostly just a parking lot. There are no other services/features for this campground. No office to check in/out or make inquires of, no bath house or restrooms, no clubhouse or public gathering place, no pool or tennis courts, no picnic tables, no playground, no dog park, no landscaping between sites, well...you get the picture. Lastly, they are priced at $49 nightly, $282 weekly or $903 monthly for a parking lot with power, water and sewer.

Perfect place to stop if you are in the area and just need to PARK your RV. Took care of reservation on line, including window pass. Never saw a human, so not sure what happens if there is a problem but we didn't have any even with a pretty strong storm passing through.
