Lakeside Landing Marina & RV Resort: Cropwell, AL Guide

It was apparent that the owners of this establishment have not invested in the grounds or facilities in the last 20+ years.  They are sucking this place dry and charging a premium for a gross and underwhelming experience.  The bathrooms were hot, humid and most of the stalls did not lock properly.  There was also mold on the ceiling and hair in the sink.  Trash all around the grounds, mainly cigarette butts and litter.  No dog disposal stations.  Leaf litter, goose poop near the lake camper sites. The sites had cracked/broken concrete pads.
The staff was friendly and courteous in the office.  The only thing redeeming was the view of the lake and the fact they had docks to tie up your boat.

Our rv site was dirty.  No maintenance to grounds.  Campers are packed in.  Not much room.  People leave their dogs to bark. Worst of all ants made their home in out steps. When we left we closed the steps into the camper. We were infested with them.  Won't  go back.

If you have a camper that does not have a bathroom DO NOT STAY HERE!

Made a reservation for a 3 night stay with my pop-up camper and upon arriving noticed the sign posted on the bathroom door "bathrooms will be locked between 8pm-6am". Went to the store and asked about it and was given a stuck up response of "doesn't everyone have a bathroom in their camper, I have one in mine".... I'm sorry I dont have a fancy enough RV to stay here.  So I had to tell my 4 YEAR OLD in the middle of the night "well I'm sorry honey but we can't go to the bathroom because they locked it".

I also dont understand how this is ADA compliant. How can my grandmother that NEEDS a bathroom for medical reasons go in the middle of the night when its LOCKED! This is completely unacceptable and should not be allowed.

The people in the store were extremely rude but the people in the office were more empathetic and refunded us money for the few nights. We did have to quickly adjust our plans and arrange other  accommodations on a holiday weekend.

Beware Sprinter drivers!  They have a strict policy against allowing Sprinters in lakefront spaces. To be clear, it is not based on model year, conversion, self containment, etc. They clearly informed us over the phone, that they simply do not allow "campervans" sites that are lakefront. They even confirmed it with a supervisor. When we arrived in our fully converted, Mercedes Sprinter, there were numerous lakefront vacant spots that remained unoccupied.

This campground is pretty dumpy. A ton of what i call full time residents. More like a mobile home park. Bathouses wernt cleaned once in the 5 days we were there. Alot of the water hookups have low pressure. Voltage issues on 50 amp. The place needs alot of updating. Docks on lake are shot. Place is really dirty. Plus they nailed me an additional 20 a night for 4 of 5 nights saying they get really busy for indy race in Barber Al. Well thats bs because we, us and 1 other overnighter were only non permanent campers on the entire place for 5 nitghts i was there. Neither of us was there for a race. Other campgrounds close by did not add the extra fee. Save your money go elsewhere.

Its such a beautiful park. We enjoy fishing and spending time in the water.

All bathhouse facilities are locked to all customers from 8 pm to 6 am, and poorly cleaned/maintained.  I have enjoyed staying at this park for years. When bringing it up to the front desk representative, her response was rude and dismissive. When asked for information on who to contact with my health concerns, she stated it was an “infringement of their privacy” and refused to continue the conversation.

if your ok with stepping in dog poo every time you walk out your door despite your not a pet owner come on down this is the place they will find any way they can to pull more money out of you pocket than help you. iv been on them for months about people 2 or 3 spots down walking their dog to another lot to potty then go back to their lot an nothing is done its disgusting smells like dog poo all the way up to store there are so many sorry folls out here that do this. just this morning in brand new shoes between my truck an my door stepped in a pile of poo the size of texas. im done with these people.added today this the second time in a 4 day period I stepped in shit walking in my door told the pwners who is responsible but does not matter they dont care told me to call animal control instead them kicking out the problem man that feeds 20 stray cats even showed them video.

Been going here for years but not now must be a pro fisherman in order to launch your boat  , Never stayed at facility live 20 minutes away
SAD MUST BE RICH OR IN SPECIAL CLUB

I have stored my boat for almost 18 months with lakeside until this week. The tractor service damaged my boat trailer. The operator on the tractor hooked up to my boat and lifted the boat almost at a 45 degree angle. Everyone on the boat was in curious why the boat was so high in the air the operator said “oh no my hydraulics stuck I’m sorry”. It damaged my locking mechanism on my trailer tongue.  I made a formal complaint at the gas station. No one called me. So I made the call five days later. Spoke with the “Park manager”. Before I could even tell my side of the story he said we didn’t damage your trailer. Then he told me two different excuses as to why my trailer is damaged. “Someone hit your trailer” and “we always have issues with your trailer”.  I myself, nor anyone else have had any trouble with the trailer , the boat and trailer were purchased new and have been stored at lakeside until this incident . The boat is routinely serviced at the dealer with no reports of trailer issues . This incident could have been prevented if personal had been properly trained to pull wake-boats or at least admitted fault and attempted to correct the damage. If you have a nice boat and trailer and want to keep it that way do not store at Lakeside Landing. Bottom line if lakeside damages your property it’s your fault.

DISGUSTING!! On a cross country trip I used truck stops that were cleaner. Sinks full of bugs mold in the showers and the entire place reeked of urine. The worst part was after deciding that I most certainly did not want to use that particular bathhouse I watched old boy go in to "clean" with one bottle of cleaner and one rag. GROSS! either he did not clean something (or anything at all) or even worse he cleaned everything with the same rag. If cleanliness means anything at all to you DO NOT STAY HERE!!! GROSS GROSS GROSS

This is one of the most beautiful camp sites we've had in our first 4 months of full-timing.  Easy full hook up sites for our 40' motor home.  Try it, you'll like it!

[[DO NOT STAY HERE!]] I've been a full timer for 7 years now (27yo) I've ran into some bad places but this one just out rite ruined my entire memorial day weekend plans I called to make reservations 2 weeks ahead of time n she said "oh no we don't take apt but I guarantee that u get a spot. So I drove 6.5 hours just to have then be rude n make me look like an idiot saying it's memorial day weekend of course we're full. So I said ok so why did u guarantee me a spot 2 weeks ago!????
