It’s been 2018 since our last visit. The place has really gone downhill. We’ve been to the Madison KOA at least 4 times. ||What they think is clean now a days is laughable.||||I usually cabin stay when staying at a branded campground, for $10-20 more a night makes it worth it not to lug my tent and usually tent sites are crap at these places and they have a couple just to say they have some (the ones here are grown over they claim to have 2, one is dug up) I camp at all 3 KOA brands, state parks, family campgrounds, and yogi bears etc. ||||Everything here is dated and it looks like they only have an interest in fixing things when they can’t avoid it anymore. Other places I’ve been have been putting in the upgrades left and right since camping has seen a serge these past couple of years. ||||Lake-never seen anyone fish at the lake until this past stay caught and they have a few small non motor boats no peddle boats or kayaks so don’t let that mislead you with “boat rental”. You do see things jump so I don’t doubt there’s fish and it’s really pretty in the backdrop. ||||If you HAVE KIDS young enough to have to keep an eye on the kabins facing the pillow ARE PRIME (kids wait for it to blow up every morning), play ground (basic-not toddler friendly, there’s a sand pit that’s not covered ||up at night where they HAD some toddler play stuff), and pool (small but does the job, the try to open it ASAP every year) all the activities are around there as well. If you DONT have kids or have a napper in the family, expect constant noise until quiet time. Get a white noise app or bring a sound machine, the TV you may get isn’t loud enough. Quiet and shade is on the backside of those Kabins in the pet friendly area. ||||Campstore is sparse, they need to bring it up date and offer more. ||Camp host family was awesome and usually the lower staff all are. ||They never had a gate, car hangers, or escorts||Activities have always been cheap and bare bones. There isn’t an activities director, the camp hosts run them. ||||Deals: they participate in Kid Care (May) and Camper Appreciation (September) weekend. Some KOAs don’t, claim they do but can’t actually use it when you try or pickings are slim. ||||Even with the deals I won’t be back. It’s not worth it. There is nothing new or upgraded and I’m not passing through or here for other things like some are. It’s ok for a weekend, don’t spend a week here with kids they’ll get bored. If you want to be within an hour from Pittsburgh and need some relaxation/recreation and willing to spend $50 per kid for their weekend activities pass I would recommend going to YB Kozy rest in Butler. ||||What tipped my scales from PROBABLY won’t be back to ABSOLUTELY WONT be back is….when I arrived my cabin was not clean, there was ultra crusty very dried up insect parts (its the woods, but…no one could have wiped that up? It’s obvious it’s been sitting there awhile) all over the top bunk, a flim/dust on the bed mats. I went to set up the beds and found several coins (from peoples pockets I assume) and an ear pod my toddler could have choked on if I hadn’t looked. A cleaning person should have found that. They sent the cleaning lady, she came in with a duster pad and went over our sleeping pads….no cleaners, towels, or shop vac. After she left, I swept the floor and LOTS of dirt came up. I broke out my sani wipes and did everything I could. I didn’t appreciate paying $90 a night for a tiny kabin to have to clean before my kids could settle in. ||||Also the door didn’t lock, I didn’t find this out until late in the second day when I went for bingo. She said I should have told them at check in, she knew exactly the problem I was talking about that maintenance would have come to fix it. Although I’ve always felt safe there…Non locking door, no security gate, electronic valuables, purse, medications and wife there alone with kids not ideal. Explained that to them, made it out to be no big deal. ||||The people were indignant and acted like I was imagining it. I was given a dirty kabin. They kept trying to minimize what I was telling them, tried to pass the buck ( she said only 1 coin, didn’t know about the air pod) , and said measures were taken that obviously not.

We went here to use the dump site which others stated they have used. However, upon arrival the woman at the front desk said they didn’t have one. Which is odd as not only are they a campsite that is supposed to accommodate RVs, but there were several reviews that stated others had used the dump site. We drive out of the way based on the website and reviews. Not only did it seem as though the woman was lying she was also just incredibly rude from the start and claimed to “know nothing”. Although we didn’t stay here based on our encounter here we would absolutely not recommend staying here due to the rude staff

I just pulled in on site 67. Neighbors are quiet. Site is level. Good water pressure. Only had to use 5’ of hard pipe to plumb in my sewer. 25’ 50amp power was enough to reach the power. 25’ water hose is way more than enough hose to reach my camper. I only needed a 6-8’ hose. Plenty of room to park my truck. Good satellite reception for my tailgater. WiFi is working good as well.

Good place to stay overnight. Sites were pretty level, all pull thru's. People were friendly, although since it's off season no one was in office until 2pm. Would stay there again.

Stayed for 4 nights and the place is ok. I’m surprised it’s a KOA because it’s run down and the bath house is horrible. Out of order showers and toilets. No toilet paper ever. Not clean at all. And the people running the place put up a sign threatening to shut the bathhouse down? Pigs is spelled with 1 g not two. Definitely won’t book again!!

Cabin was clean, but heater was VERY poor — shutting off soon after starting. This left the place quit cool, regardless of the thermostat setting. (The electric baseboard heaters would simply turn off after a few minutes.) The door had a sizable gap on the underside, easily big enough for a mouse, etc. The shower was joke with a heater that supplied warm water for just a minute or two ... then came only cold water. The hot water heater was positioned immediately above the shower and did not have a properly plumbed drain line for the relief valve, making it potentially dangerous. Much of the cabin's wiring was poorly stapled on the walls. It was fairly quiet, the check-in person very friendly, and the primary campground area clean. The highest rating here would be a "3". That's the very best I can do.

Nice KOA with great people. Debbie helped us tremendously when we broke down in our motorhome and had to change our plans. She was understanding and helped us get rescheduled. The park is a little hilly, but totally accessible. GREAT laundry room with plenty of machines ~ quarters only. Great wifi ~ better than most parks have. Very fast internet. GREAT jumpy thing, pool and playground for the kiddos. And nice little dog park for the fur-babies. The thing I liked about the dog park was the double fence/double gate area. Whoever designed the park obviously had dogs. The park hosted a sweet little Trick or Treat night for the kiddos and got all the guests to participate. They also had a huge bonfire and country music at the pavilion. Fires are so soothing! The only reason I gave the park a 4, instead of a 5 is because the interior roads need a little attention. All interior roads and sites are gravel, but easily accessible and decent 'yard' between sites. We recommend and will be back if ever in the area again. *****NOTE: GPS will give you wrong directions. Call the park. If they are not open, put Westinghouse (680 Waltz Mill Road) in your GPS, then go about 1/3 mile up the hill past Westinghouse. KOA will be on your right.

Steep hill upon entrance. All of the campsites are terraced on the hill. It's clean. Alot of live- in workers there that leave between 4 and 6 am so be prepared for their diesel trucks rumbling by your camper if your located by the in-out road. We only stayed one night n don't have kids so have no idea of its a good place for em.

Nice and clean campground, but tighter sites than others. On a hill and sites were cut into the hill wonderfully, but need to relevel sites with gravel in the worn grooves. Very good internet. Very nice staff.

Clean and close to 70/76. Sites are gravel, somewhat level. Tight roads. Not for the novice with bigger rigs. We have a 40ft class A with small tow vehicle. Pull|Through sites required folks around us to move vehicles so we could exit the site safely. Neighbor site has to have cars moved to enter their site.
