Ramblin' Redwoods Campground

We stayed 4 nights in order to visit Redwoods NP. It is a convenient location to both ends of the park and Crescent City. The campground is in need of upgrades. We were in a 36 foot Motorhome towing a Jeep. Our 50 amp pull through FHU site was quite muddy so new gravel is needed. I could only get the 30 amp plug on the pedestal to work. The maintenance guy said they had issues with low voltage so 30 amps was all we could expect. It wasn't an issue given the time of year but would be a concern in hot weather. The bathrooms were very outdated and not very clean so we didn't use them. Laundry had a blockage at first that was repaired and then one machine just ate our coins. This was probably a nice campground at one point. It has lots of shade and a couple of more open sites. It really needs some work and is currently overpriced.

Nice campground. Only reason submitted 4 stars is they put us in site #5 which is jammed in between 2 cabins, you literally can see into cabins windows so close. It is a very “dark” site no light filters in. There were several other sites available they could have put us in. Somewhat disappointed!

RV Sites are nestled in the redwoods, easy to get in and around. About 1/2 the sites are full-time residents. Bathrooms need updating, half the laundry machines were out of order during our visit.

We had an amazing time. The cabin felt a little on the narrow side. But, overall, well worth it. The staff were always reachable during office hours and responsive to our needs.

Absolutely loved this campground! You're camping right next to big ol' redwoods trees! It's such a mystical spot! It was rainy season when we went on our way down the coast and the 101, so it was so peaceful the entire stay. We stayed two nights and wish we could live there. It's close to Crescent City for city amenities, but also super close to the Jedidiah's. The Stout Grove trail is super close which is my favorite of all the Redwoods. Great location for the PNW coast and the Redwoods (Jedidiah's and Prairie Creek). The staff were super friendly and the bathrooms are cozy with hot showers. I loved that they had a heater in the bathroom because it was definitely cold outside. I'll never forget walking back to our RV tucked in between big Redwood Tree stumps and ferns everywhere. If we get the chance to travel back up the 101 ever again, we'll definitely stay here!

We were in site #19. It was great, private. Used the laundry, bathrooms were dated but very clean. They even had a space heater going so when you showered you didn’t freeze. Great location. We’d come back!

Travelling from Canada, this is the most beautiful campground! The hosts are lovely! The sites are large and it was easy to maneuver with our big rig. They have an awesome playground, but my kids preferred to create their own adventure on the campgrounds redwood trail! Highly recommend this campground!

We stayed in July. The campground is beautiful and has great secluded spots. The bathrooms/showers were great as was the little store for any last minute supplies. We loved this campground and can’t wait to stay next year!

Arrived late our first night and they had everything laid out for us to get our campsite set up with no problems. Nice showers with great pressure, beautiful campground, easy access but far enough away from town that we didn’t hear traffic or people.

Really, REALLY need to provide an escort to sites. We went around 3 times before we found our site in a cluster of sites with no site number visible from the camp road. Nice setting in redwoods (not old growth, but good sized), but there are a number of trashy permanent rigs visible. Facilities are worn and tired.

We couldnt go because of the fires nearby. Hwy to get there was closed. Air quality was bad and smoky. They were running on generators in crescent city when we called to explain why we couldn't get down there. . The state parks and the hiking in the area were all closed. And yet…This campground would not refund out reservation or even let us transfer it to another time. What were we supposed to do? Sit in a smoke filled city in a camper with off and on electricity, no hiking available and most of the city shut down? Common sense and common descency does not run through this company. Corporate makes their decisions. Corporate office doesnt even respond to emails sent. If you book here you better hope nothing out of your control keeps you from going. Or you may be out 600-800 dollars |

Nice campground in the redwoods. Very good location after visiting Redwoods National and State Parks. Close to Trees of Mystery. Sites are fairly level but very close to neighbors. Our fire ring was very close to the front of our neighbor's site. The WiFi was spotty. Decent 4G cell service with Verizon but not enough to stream.

Went to this campground 3 days/2 nights for a family vacation. First thing we noticed was how close each of the campsites are, your neighbor's car parking right next to yours kind of close. Very little privacy. Some of the fireplaces are also in inconvenient spots, right next to bushes and trees. Next thing we experienced was the amount of dirty toilet papers on the ground and overflowing out of the toilet. And of course there are no toilet papers in the dispensers. This was 3 pm in the afternoon mind you. Very little maintenance was done to the toilet situation. The showers had mold on the floor as well. Next day they've added TP, however 2 of 3 toilets were overflowing onto the ground. Also missing bag hooks, so if you're planning on going to the bathroom before showering you better prepare to put your travel bags on the floor. A lot of children and dogs were in the campground, playing on and around trees, lots of yelling, barking, and screaming all day and night. LOTS. Some of the ladies in the group have also reported having young boys in the bathroom and shower. We've also encountered multiple police officers on the campground, multiple times. All in all, very expensive, noisy, and dirty. Was not a good experience. Hands down the worst campground I've been to in my life.

Wow! Just! Wow! You will not find a better run resort on the West Coast! The setting is one of the most stunningly beautiful RV parks you'll ever come across. It's sparkling clean and run like a well-oiled machine. Do not miss the enchanting Trail along the Stream through Ferns and redwoods. Ramblin Redwoods is now our all-time favorite West Coast destination.

We had booked a 3 night stay here for tent camping. I would never book again, strictly due to the size of the site. We ended up not even staying at this location because we would have been 3 feet from our neighbors tent.We weren't able to get any sort of refund, which we understand, but it still sucks to be out $150, for the price I expected to have a larger site. The lady at check in was very nice, and she thoroughly explained the wifi, and all the camp rules. There's a very nice playground which is a plus But if you're someone that doesn't want to talk to your neighbors DO NOT STAY HERE. If you're cool being right next to someone or if you're in an r.v. then I'm sure it would have been fine. In the photo attached you can see the entire camping spot, the tent pictured is the neighbors tent.
