Ramblin' Redwoods Campground

Went to this campground 3 days/2 nights for a family vacation. First thing we noticed was how close each of the campsites are, your neighbor's car parking right next to yours kind of close. Very little privacy. Some of the fireplaces are also in inconvenient spots, right next to bushes and trees. Next thing we experienced was the amount of dirty toilet papers on the ground and overflowing out of the toilet. And of course there are no toilet papers in the dispensers. This was 3 pm in the afternoon mind you. Very little maintenance was done to the toilet situation. The showers had mold on the floor as well. Next day they've added TP, however 2 of 3 toilets were overflowing onto the ground. Also missing bag hooks, so if you're planning on going to the bathroom before showering you better prepare to put your travel bags on the floor. A lot of children and dogs were in the campground, playing on and around trees, lots of yelling, barking, and screaming all day and night. LOTS. Some of the ladies in the group have also reported having young boys in the bathroom and shower. We've also encountered multiple police officers on the campground, multiple times. All in all, very expensive, noisy, and dirty. Was not a good experience. Hands down the worst campground I've been to in my life.

Wow! Just! Wow! You will not find a better run resort on the West Coast! The setting is one of the most stunningly beautiful RV parks you'll ever come across. It's sparkling clean and run like a well-oiled machine. Do not miss the enchanting Trail along the Stream through Ferns and redwoods. Ramblin Redwoods is now our all-time favorite West Coast destination.

We had booked a 3 night stay here for tent camping. I would never book again, strictly due to the size of the site. We ended up not even staying at this location because we would have been 3 feet from our neighbors tent.We weren't able to get any sort of refund, which we understand, but it still sucks to be out $150, for the price I expected to have a larger site. The lady at check in was very nice, and she thoroughly explained the wifi, and all the camp rules. There's a very nice playground which is a plus But if you're someone that doesn't want to talk to your neighbors DO NOT STAY HERE. If you're cool being right next to someone or if you're in an r.v. then I'm sure it would have been fine. In the photo attached you can see the entire camping spot, the tent pictured is the neighbors tent.

Nice little campground. Plenty of elbow room but not a ton of privacy. Walked into the front office and there was a pretty strong smell of cigarette smoke.. they either smoke in the office or bring it back in. Either way, I wouldn’t purchase anything in the office.. it would probably smell. They describe their bathrooms as almost spa like and well kept up with on demand hot water heaters. The only true part was the hot water heaters.. there seemed to be decent ventilation but I walked in just to check if I should skip using the RV and every toilet in the men’s rest room was wrecked… and the showers didn’t look that great.. I wasn’t tempted by any means. Took a shower at the campsite.. be sure to use pressure regulators as the supply is about 120 psi.. pretty wild. Overall not horrible. Better than most state parks. Nice playground area for the kids .big redwoods above. Full service hookups. We won’t return but would be good for most.

Ramblin woods was absolutely amazing!! They were kind enough to accommodate for 12 girls for a bachelorette party. The staff were amazing, I couldn’t have asked for better service. We had to camp sites that were absolutely beautiful. This camp site is no more then 10 minutes from the coast and crescent city. They also have a short trail leading you through the redwoods and a little creek, it was stunning. Absolutely recommend!

Really cute and quiet little campground. They have a beautiful little walking trail behind the park that is so magical and the dogs are allowed to be off leash there. The staff are all so so nice and very accommodating. The only thing is, don't come expecting your starlink to work! The tree coverage is really strong, (although very beautiful).

This is an older campground set amongst huge redwood trees. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Small camp store in the office. Picnic table and fire ring . WiFi but I never could get internet. Bathrooms are old but clean. All the lots are surrounded by trees. Family friendly. Pet friendly. Good water pressure. When arriving follow the signs to the office. Infinity/Verizon service was LTE only, 3 bars, T-Mobile was less.

Nice campsite, not extremely private but not right on top of neighbors. There are lots of larger stumps and a nice playground. Bring change if you want to wash clothes after the office is closed. Decent water pressure, and its fairly quiet. Office staff is nice, wood isn't cheap for campfires. Prison nearby.

We stay in the cabins for the space. Better than hotel rooms by far! Very quite clean friendly grounds, cabin was warm and ready for us. I loved the full ice trays nice touch! Hosts were very accommodating to our situation. Supper cool peps! Hoppy Easter 🐣 Thank you 😍

Fanatic place to camp! Easy to get our 28 Foot trailer in. Full hookups. Close to town! Very nice people who run it. Located just off the Hwy among the Redwoods. Each site allows privacy. Also a playground for kids and showers!!

Stayed here for 3 days in October in our 38 foot skoolie. It wasn't full, so it was fairly quiet minus the road noise since its off of 101. Feels cozy because of all the trees. They had restrooms with showers. Showers didn't cost extra to use. Laundry room was nice, as well. $1.50 per load when we were there. It's the cheapest we had seen yet, as the RV park we went to before it was $4.00 per load. So definitely do your laundry here. They also have wifi, but we didn't need it as our AT&T signal was really good. We also have T-Mobile and that was decent, as well. Definitely recommend this place for RV camping.

I am very surprised to see so many negative reviews, as we have stayed here several times throughout the last few years and have not had one issue. We are currently staying here as I write this. We love this campground for the following reasons: ●Well maintained and clean sites ●Spacious sites- 092 is our favorite for how spacious it is and the only one we book for this reason. Other sites appear to be spacious as well. ●Very nice play area for kids ●Very quiet even with being closer to road. ●Love and respect the 5 mph speed limit ●At least they admit and make you aware of theft issues. Just lock up your stuff and you will be fine. Haven't been to a single campground that does not have this issue ●Professional communication- received an email about a small refund I was due ●Great jumping off point to Crescent City, Brookings, Trees of Mystery, and state parks We have noticed the amount of work and upkeep the staff has done throughout the past few years. We love the new signs, removing of older trailers, the gravel to fill a hole that was in our spot, trimming of the gorgeous trees, and sprucing up of the permanent residences. You can clearly see the effort they have made to make this a very inviting place. Yes, there are some permanent residences, I'm assuming hosts and staff, but they are very nicely kept. I have not been to a single campground that does not have staff living on the grounds, so I can't understand those comments. We will defintely be back next camping season! P.S. Why do people complain about updating? If the toilet flushes and clean water comes out of the shower, then no updating necessary. If you want updated then pay twice to three times the price somewhere else. If you want state park prices, stay at a state park. We have stayed at places with way smaller spaces and no amenities (playground, cable, wifi) and paid a lot more. It's useless complaining about things that can't be changed and wouldn't really affect your stay if they were.

Beautiful campground in a redwood forest. Campsites are spacious with everything you need. Bathrooms and showers are amazingly clean. Camp hosts were very accommodating for a last minute change in our stay. We would totally come back and stay here again.

We stayed one week in our 5th wheel in October. We initially were disappointed in our site as it was more in the open (#18) instead of being nestled in the redwoods, but soon realized that we really liked our site with the grassy area & that it got sunlight as those sites in the forest were very dark all day. Laundromat was clean & well priced. Staff were very friendly & helpful. We were also glad that we stayed outside Crescent City as it tended to be warmer & less foggy further inland. We had no issues using the WiFi, but the campground was not full & we were near the office. We were not able to get any air tv channels & there was no cable, but they did loan out dvds. Overall we felt that our stay compared to staying at a state park with some amenities. That being said, we did feel that the price was high for this type of campground/ Rv park. It was one of the higher priced places we have stayed in over two years of traveling in the US & Canada.

Campground was pretty quiet in regards to other guests... the "manager" was very loud and was moving his camp into the one across from us and had a tractor going ALL day long. When asked what was going on he told us that he was moving into a new campsite for whatever reason and he asked how long he would be going back and forth on the very noisy tractor. He instantly got rude and told us we stayed in a "working campground" and basically to get over it. We ended up leaving for the day to relax at the river (which was surprisingly quieter than hearing the tractor all day). Campspots are very tight and there is not a lot of signage and the ones they have are not clear. Thankfully we had 2 spots on either side of us and they were our family so we got lucky. This seemed like more of a rural apartment complex than a resort... lots of permanent residents, some buildings and random vehicles and campers look very outdated.
