Great campground! Large, wide roads, spacious sites, alot of water front spots, showers are nice and hot! Brand new washing machines were put in during our stay. The men and women at the booth are helpful and kind. I would recommend this campground.

The campground is very clean. All sites are great size and level. The restrooms are older but clean . It was very quiet, nice to walk in .

Sadly only here one night as I'm traveling. I will definitely return though. Level concrete site with full hookups, very clean and quiet!

This place was so peaceful! I have been having a hard time and needed an escape. I’m a single woman and can say I had a blast all by myself! Please come visit this place!

Best COE campground ever! The roads are wide, 2-lanes and perfect for big-rigs. We have no problems navigating through the campground with our 42’ fifth wheel. The location is beautiful. We love kayaking here! Everything is well maintained.

Beautiful well laid out campground with hookups, bathrooms, showers, dump station and trash. Lots of trees give shade and privacy between sites. Sites are level with tables, grills and a fire ring. Very quiet and really enjoyable. I want to give a huge shoutout to hosts Bobby and Debbie for really going above and beyond to get me in after hours. Thank you very much.

I thought the drive to the campground was a little sketchy. But I loved it. Not crowded. Beautiful woods. My spot was a paved pull through. Staff very helpful. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Nice large campsites. They do stand in water where hookups are. Seems very dangerous. Most sites have no covers on electric boxes. We have camped 40 years and I believe this has the dirtiest bathhouse we have ever been in. We came in Sunday. They were flithy. Of course it was on weekend. Didnt clean by Monday so we called. They were just nasty. Person answered phone and said they were cleaned the day before. Its now Thursday and still nasty.

DO NOT CAMP IN THE RAIN!!! You WILL get shocked. Our neighbors who live locally say it's a known issue for years. The first time this weekend it rained, a ranger came out and said our pedestal had no ground wire. He wired one in, and all was good until the next time it rained. If you are barefoot and you touch metal on your camper, you get a shock. Your dogs will scream.

One of the best camp sites we've had. The newer loop has very large sites with concrete pads that are staggered so you are pretty far from neighbors. Many sites have beautiful waterfront views. We didn't use the bath house, so I can't comment on the condition. The grounds were clean and well maintained.

Our first time staying here, was an over night stop. We were blown away by this COE campground!! Easy to maneuver through the campground with our 36ft motorhome towing our jeep. The sites are big and this part has full hook ups. We stayed on Catoma part of the campground, walked all through the campground, every site was large, some more shaded, a few had water view. We are already making plans to return and stay longer.

Great Corps of Engineers campground. Good sites with plenty of room. The bathrooms and showers are old but in very good condition. The only Corps campground we've been to with coin operated washers and dryers. Located on the water near the Alabama River, there is also a boat ramp.

Great Corp of Engineers campground. Nice large sites. The Catoma loop has full hookups. The Antioch loop is water & electric. Restrooms/showers are dated but in good condition. One of the few COE campgrounds we've been to with coin op. washers and dryers, which is nice. Dump station and boat ramp.

Gunter Hill Campground is another great example of the amazing campgrounds that are built and operated by the Army Corps of Engineers. This campground is designed to perfection. Each site is easy to back into. No 90 degree driveway. All are slanted so that you can line up your rig before backing in. This campground has two sections. The Antioch Loop is sites 75 through 142. It seems like the older section. The driveways are a little narrower. All of the sites are unpaved. You have water and electricity but no sewage hookup. It is heavily shaded. I actually like this section. It harkens back to the days when all campgrounds look like this, and most people tent camped. You can get a big rig in most of the sites, but choose carefully. This site also has the boat ramp to the river. There is one shower/bathhouse in this section. The Catoma section is sites 1 through 75. It looks new. All of the driveways are wide and are easy to back in. Full hookups. There are two shower and bath houses in this section and a playground. There is also a paved walkway down to the river. We saw several people fishing off this dock. Could not be happier with choosing to stay here. Highly recommend.
