This campground is so rundown. We stayed for 14 days on two sites and found the bathhouse rundown, and the laundry very old and dirty. The sites are nice but most are close together. The worst part of our stay was the old crotchety host couple. The day we had scheduled to move to a new site in the campground we chose not to leave. In the evening we got a rude call from the host lady demanding we drop everything and come up to get our paperwork. (In the middle of our dinner) when I told her I simply turned the post tag over and updated the site number and dates she informed me that wasn't good enough, I must come up for the new paper tag. Then she told us that the Rangers would come and "get them" and write them up!! As we are very close friends to a couple of the rangers here working in the Army Corp (she didn't know this info) I called her bluff. All in all, it was a very disturbing conversation. Be aware! Stay clear of this team!

Not only our 1st U.S. Army Corp Engineers visit, but our 1st ever visit to a campground. All we can say is WOW. It was only for 1 night but we're hooked. It is absolutely beautiful. We will be back!

Such a beautiful campground, even in early December with only Spanish moss adorning the trees. Catoma Loop is the place to be for long, wide, level concrete pads — a level of perfection you’d expect from the Corps of Engineers. Plus full hookups and lots of wooded space between you and your neighbors. We booked the week prior, and I was surprised at first that only three sites were available, given the time of year. Then I saw the low prices. With our Senior Pass, we paid $30 total for the two-night stay.

Catoma Loop Campground (Sites 1-75) have water, electricity AND sewer hookups and paved pads. Campsites are large and park is beautiful and well maintained. Close to Montgomery and an opportunity to join a Civil Rights tour of the area...lots of history here.

Great place to camp. All sites on Catoma are full hook up with 50&30 amp plugs. Very spacious sites and almost all have great shade in the summer. Playgrounds are nice as well and great fishing on this part of the Alabama river.

Lovely place, we were in site 114. All the ones who are complaining about the older section must be the ones that enjoy those parking lot rv resorts and have never camped in a state park either. Beautiful campground and the newer section is nice but I like the rustic and more trees and shade over the new section.

Beautiful Corps of Engineers campground. Two sides in park. One side has concrete pads, water, electric and sewage. Other side is more rustic. Pads are crushed rock, water and electric only. Great place to camp.

Rustic is definitely a word to describe this state park! It was nice and serene but definitely some attending to. We were at site 76 and there was tons of poison ivy around our site. I understand it’s nature but they should spray for it at campsites. I was paranoid my kids or dogs would touch it. It actually got on our electric cord but we got it off with the ivy oil remover. We also had billions of ants. More than o have EVER seen. The laundry room had two dryers and no washers. The bathrooms while clean need a lot of upkeep.

Came here to do car camping for two night over the 4th of July weekend. Stayed at ANTI loop, which is pretty much a sad and dilapidated RV camp. I guess we got very unlucky when it comes to our fellow campers around us. Can't enjoy any peaceful moment after dark because of all the drunken shouting, fighting, hysterical laughters, obnoxious music, and smells of weed etc, well into midnight. There is a stated quiet hour starting from 10pm, but sadly, people do not seem to care. Says a lot about the management here as well. If you care about peace and quietness during your stay, think twice.

Very impressed with this park. Lots of large spacious RV sites. Cement pads with full hook-ups. Plenty of room for larger rigs. Close to nature, great price, well maintained and some sites have water views. We were only there for 2 nights....wished we could of stayed longer!

Stayed here two separate nights, May 7th and May 27th. 1st night in the newer side was a 5 star experience, 2nd night in older side was 3 star at best. Beautiful park with awesome helpful lady working the front gate both stays, Unfortunately, we will never visit again. There appears to be no good way to get to the campground without having to drive through very bad neighborhoods with no law enforcement presence. Roads were a complete free for all with lines of drivers using gas stations and business lots as roadways to go around red lights. The city has apparently ceded the streets to mayham. Out of the 41 states that we have been in , Alabama was the saddest example of humanity that we have ever experienced, from incorrectly marked interstate highway services signs, to people literally sitting out in the streets in folding chairs.

Nice Campground nice roomy spots. However will not be back ! This was our First time here and not one person on the reviews mention that there is a race Track near by 😳 We came in on a Saturday after a long day of Driving well the then the Races Started at 7:00 you Couldn't even sit outside it was so loud this went on until 11:00 No one was Sitting Outside. I don't know who's brilliant idea was to put a campground near a racetrack I would say it's not good for business for the campground.

Excellent Campgroung. All sites are large and none are on top of one another. Restroom facilities are very clean and sanitary. The Campground hosts were super friendly and the pet Cardinal was awesome. We will most certainly return.
