Dockweiler RV Park

The maintenance and upkeep of the RV park has really gone down hill over time. They recently removed the barbeques from the dry camping area because they were located at the ends of the pads and rumor has it that people were backing into them. Why not just move them to the side instead of getting rid of them completely?? There has a been a broken skylight in the women's restroom for almost a year now with a sheet of plastic flapping in the wind to cover the opening and large pieces of broken glass still up in the ceiling waiting to fall. The laundry facilites are closed for use and no explanation. The cleaning crew is hit and miss and likely not given the correct chemicals to do the job right. The white caulking along the shower baseboards is black with mold. All that being said, I keep going back because its right on the beach and that is hard to pass up.

I will admit, that Dockweiler hasn't been on my top 10 places in SoCal, due to the ridiculously narrow sites, being in the flight path, or the "parking lot" street lights. But this trip has won me over..Could have been the weather or the company, but we had an AMAZING 4 days there.

We were there in June. This RV park is no more than an ordinary parking lot with connection for black water and city water. Narrow pitches. Restrooms were closed in the morning. Lots of noise from airplanes. No free WIFI. And that for 75 dollars/night! Too much money! Close to the sea and well secured.

Very positive stay. Yes you can hear airplanes all night, but the atmosphere was so nice, the vibe was good, the staff was friendly and we were surrounded by nice and happy neighbours. Close to airport which was good for us going to LAX.

Great rv park with hook ups and you are on the beach. Only drawback are the planes flying over from lax, right in the flight plan. They do run all night so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

It’s on the beach, which is the only perk besides being right by Manhattan Beach and having full hookups. 24/7 plane noise, bathrooms were not working, the washer dryer was in bad shape and there is only one working. Would definitely not stay here again.

Dockweiler Beach RV Park provided a very poor experience for me during my three day stay. There were so many things that went wrong! It's way too much to document in this review. The location right on the beach is great, however, there were many challenges including: 1. Poor customer service 2. Security concerns - Given the recent shooting and the clear direct access from a public beach, and the recent shooting at this beach location, I would have expected a greater presence of security. Having to call the police for folks sittle on my rig and assigned table after 11pm is unacceptable. The police came immediately, and I did notice an increase presence of the police the next day in the area. 2. Inconsistency in "rules" - especially between the agency that runs the security at the first entrance and the agency that runs the RV park. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCES!!! Even forced to WALK from the security entrance to to my camper in HEELS because I was told my son needed to pay $13 just to drop me off!! Again, to much to write here, but I hope this is enough to let you know this was not a good experience!! 3. Openness to/from a public beach - had a group of people around 10pm on a Friday night take over my table and were sitting on the back of my camper van. I felt the van moving which woke me up. I called the police to run them off. 4. Dry Dock - Everyone has access to the bathrooms that are designated for dry docking. They have removed all but two grills for this end. You can not have additional cars and visitors have to part on the beach side and make a 1+mile walk to visit. 5. No WiFi and poor cell reception Best location right on the beach, but when you have challenges such as this, it makes it not worth it. 6. A true Tailgating Environment - If you like that, then this is the place for you!! The only positive were two of the staff members in the office: James Johnson and Morgan Williams. Ryan Roberts also demonstrated excellent leadership in taking in all the information related to my concerns and also issuing a refund. There should be a detailed Customer Service Training for MANAGERS provided to Isamar Bonilla. She appears to be very knowledgeable, which is important for a supervisor, however, there is a way to show up and a way to provide service. Both of these leader competencies are glarilingy a problem. Being "fast" "flipid" and borderline "rud" in what a person says and does, is not a demonstration of good service. There is more that I could share about this poor experience, however, I anticipate it will serve little purpose. This post is more so for those who plan a trip to this RV Park. I do hope this is helpful.

Wonderful views at this seaside retreat at the edge of suburbia managed by LA County. My only complaint is why take out the barbecue grills from the dry camping site? It seems that the dry site campers are treated like 2nd class citizens when compared to the RV park side campers. LA County, please put the barbecue grills back like they were in 2022

Besides the sound of planes taking off 24/7, which I expected, that wasn’t the problem. The problem is that there was NO patrolling to prevent unruly, LOAD MUSIC playing, gang like mentality, a crazy amount of people at one site, and that the bathrooms were so gross!!! Do not stay here! WARNING!!!

The park has no frills; however, it’s on the beach and close to everything in the LA area, which is why I gave it 5 stars. It has full hookups that are super clean. The only downside is the spaces are close together - but you hopefully are spending time at the beach for a fun outing. If you want to be close to all things LA, then this is the park for you!

With it being located in LA, I came in with pretty low expectations, but was surpised to find that it was a pleasant experience. The RV park itself is basically a parking lot with hookups for RVs, but is located right on the beach which makes for a very scenic view. The bathrooms are okay. The beach access is nice and basically limited to people at RV park. It makes for an almost private beach feel in comparison to the other surrounding beaches in LA. Overall for camping on the beach in the city it is one of the better options out there.

This was my second RV park experience. I had only ever been to Mission Bay in San Diego. Based on my experience at Mission Bay, I really had anticipated a higher quality experience than what I ended up having. This location is wonderfully placed yet is under maintained. There is a smell of sewage that lingers in the air. The first night I attempted to open the windows of the RV to allowing fresh air, while sleeping only to be awakened by wharfs of sewage smell. Now I originally thought this was may be coming from my own RV until the next day I realize that all times of day you can smell sewage in the air. I really had higher hopes for this particular RV park especially because it’s located conveniently right at the beach is edge. There is truly great potential for this RV park to be much better and it will be wonderful to see the city take a more concerted effort towards improving the RV park experience at the specific location. I had no customer service issues. In fact, the folks I interacted with were very nice and friendly.

Good place staying in the dry camping sites as they have more room and privacy. If the wind comes from the east you smell the sewerage plant across the highway. Planes all day but they reduce by 10pm and start slowly around 5:30am. I was ok with the noise in the vehicle but outside on the south runway was pretty loud. The toilets fairly clean and stocked with paper

I had pretty low expectations when we booked here... But wow. Where do I even start? Customer service was non-existent. Everyone I talked to seemed bothered that I had a question. Short answers, distracted, not even looking up from their phones to talk to me. The site itself was mediocre. Picnic tables are bolted down, so you can't move it out from under the neighbors slide outs - impossible not to be tripping over your neighbors. There's room to put your awning out, that's about it. The place is also lit up like a stadium - even with the curtains closed, seemed like bright light shining in everywhere. We were given codes to access restrooms, showers & laundry... None of the doors actually opened. The only shower appeared to be the outdoors beach shower. The beach was nothing short of disgusting. I've seen landfills with less trash. Luckily they had sand piled 20 feet high the length of the RV park, so we couldn't actually see it - the derelict vessels just off shore weren't any better to look at. It's also right next to LAX, a power plant & a water treatment facility. The air quality was so poor, by the third day I was coughing so much I thought I was sick. The airport was (obviously) pretty noisy, but watching the planes was about the only positive of the entire stay. If sitting inside with the windows closed & AC on is your idea of a beach holiday, this place is great. I'd bring an air purifier too.

We stayed here Friday-Sunday at the end of October. 90% or more filled up in the park. It’s nice being right at the beach. Although the beach path doesn’t allow dogs because it’s a bike trail and the Main Street doesn’t have sidewalks so everyone’s dogs here are pretty bummed out and barking a ton. The planes are ok, very loud but not super frequent. There was a weird loud air horn from a boat all night. It was less than a 2 mile walk to downtown El Segundo with lots of good food and shops. The showers were classic beach showers. Laundry has an app to pay which rules. All in all this has been a good spot and we’re picking up a friend from the airport. Was lucky enough to book a day in advanced. It felt really safe and clean. Would come here again!
