Grand Canyon Trailer Village RV Park

I feel like the management of this campground is only out to make a quick buck and doesn't care anything about the users experience. * There are no showers at this campground* Check in area is actually a bus stop. Was told not to park there for church in. Paid for 30 amp service, but was told there is no 30amp, so no electricity I paid for. The sites are run down and right on top of each other. The showers are a 10 minute walk away in a different campground, in a building that looks like it hasn't been updated since the 1950s. These are the worst showers I have ever seen in an RV camp. This place is not worth the price. The stalls near the shower were out of toilet paper. There clerk said she was out of toilet paper. Not worth the premium price.

We stayed here over Thanksgiving holiday with family and kids. For the price and amenities I would not recommend nor return. Yes, being in the park is convenient, generally speaking. Paying over $80 a night and having such limited amenities is simply not worth it. The shower was 4 min drive away, with 1 sink. The showers closed at 4pm daily (!) Our pull through slab was on angle which we needed to adjust by pulling up onto rocks. Frustratingly, there were no fire pits anywhere in the RV village. When we walked .7 miles to the general store and found firewood, it was explained to me that the neighboring CAMPground allowed fires, Mather. Like I started, we will not be returning here in our next visit to the Grand Canyon.

This is the only rv park on the south rim of Grand Canyon. Full hook up paved sites with 50 amp electric. All sites pull thru, some long enough for large MH or 5ver. Park shuttle bus stop at the checkin hut, so seeing the sites is easy. We've stayed here many times over the past 20 years and have seen the price double. I guess for a destination like Grand Canyonn that is the norm. Note: when arriving pull ahead of the office in order to allow room for busses to turn around.

This place was very close to the grand canyon, walking distance from the site with free shuttle busses to take you into the main area as well. Gift shops, coffee shops and resturants on site. Was a gorgeous stay, only complaint was the price per night and just a heads up, you still need to pay the $35 fee to enter the area regardless if you are staying at a park or not.

Yes, the RV park is conveniently located within the Grand Canyon, so it must be good because of that. Close to the hiking trails and the store. We stayed in our travel trailer in one of the paved sites in the middle of October 2024 for few nights. We planned on using the bathroom and shower facilities. The bathroom and showers situation is awful. The showers are closed @ 9 pm each day. No one told us about this upon check-in. What a surprise we had going there after 9 pm - no shower for us the evening of arrival after full day of driving. We went during open hours next day. The showers are disgusting and extremely dirty. They were supposed to be cleaned every 3-4 hrs or something like that. They were closed for 30-45 min for the cleaning each time, but they didn't seem to be cleaned at all. There is only 1 sink in the bathroom, which was dirty too and did not appear to be cleaned for days. Disgusting!!! You need coins or tokens for the shower. The coin box didn't work properly and was taking my tokens constantly without activating the shower. Someone has an office there. I complained about taking my tokens and was told it's for maintenance to fix, not for her. I complained about the showers being dirty, she said is for the cleaner to handle, not for her. Not sure what is the purpose of her being there? She only upset me. What a disappointing experience we had! We've been planning and waiting excited to visit Grand Canyon for a while. We will not be staying at Trailer Village RV park in the future. It's way too overpriced with the basic services not working properly. I'm certain my review won't improve the situation. They know they are in the demanding location and people will be staying there no matter what. Hopefully it will help someone. Safe travels!

We stayed 4 nights in a travel trailer in July when it was at least 100 degrees every day so we were happy to have hook-ups for a/c. Being right off the walking/biking path was also great. However, for the price paid ($85/night) we would expect more included amenities. Showers and laundry were available for an additional cost 1/2 mile away. It was also one of the most unattractive RV park's we've ever stayed at. We were on the side with rows M-V which was much worse than rows A-L on the other side. On our side the asphalt roads were badly deteriorating. There also wasn't much shade. I wrote to the company that manages this park and heard nothing back.

Very nice clean park with all the amenities we needed lots of trails to get you where you’re going or take the bus. The park is beautiful and very clean.

We booked our stay at trailer village because we planned to hike Rim to Rim. It was a great experience. The village was clean and nice to set up our 5th wheel. The store and post office were right there. The shuttle comes to the entrance to pick you up so you don’t have to worry about parking your car or truck. A well run facility. We highly recommend.

We stayed for 1 night in mid-October 2024 in a 24 ft motorhome w/6 small dogs. Big points for: a very restful, quiet night; park is clean; employees are welcoming, friendly and helpful; wonderful place for walking dogs; level asphalt pull through sites. They lost points for showers being a 7:00 walk away (from the check in, a lot longer from the rear sites) at the Mather Point (federal) campground); nearest wifi is at the General Store; and the HUGE construction zone (building something very large) right in front of our site. :-( I'm sure everyone in the park could hear when they started work at 6:45 AM and of course there was a lot of noise all day long, and lots of dust. We were not notified of the construction at the time of booking which was only a couple of weeks before our stay and it's very clear that construction has been going on for many months (at least). Grand Canyon camping sites are few and far between in the grand scheme of things so, while I would recommend staying at Mather, this is an option.

Very nice campground. Sites were spacious enough, and the area was quiet. Nice walking trails into the park itself. Great option to stay inside the park and not deal with the entrance lines every morning. We enjoyed our stay.

This is a great location within the park. Has a shuttle stop close by and within walking distance to the general store. Our site was gravel and did not have a 30amp hookup that we needed. It was cool that the elk walk right through the campground.

We absolutely loved staying at Trailer Village June 16-20, 2024. Being right in the middle of the action was wonderful. We used the shuttle system everywhere and it was so easy. We never had to drive our pickup after we checked in until the morning we checked out. The views were so beautiful. The sunsets were awesome and the signs that help you to know which points are good for which views were so helpful. There were elk in the campground every day. So cool!! (Be sure to use a disinfectant wipe on your spigot before hooking up your water hose because the elk drink the drips from the spigots. But we do that at every campground so this one is no different.) Taking walks was fun because we were so close to everything. The shuttle stop was just a few steps from our site. The only bad thing was the power situation. Even though we booked our site 13 months in advance, I didn’t realize we would need to book first thing that morning so I waited till after work. All the sites on the new half were taken so we were in the old part. I didn’t care because it has full hookups and is still pretty. But the day before we checked out of Trailer Village, the voltage kept going too low and our surge protector shut off the power to our RV over and over again. I am not exaggerating when I say 30-40 times. We kept the air conditioner off because we didn’t want the power to come back on with the air conditioners on because that’s hard on the RV. So it was uncomfortably hot during those hours. We called and they sent someone out who didn’t even look in the box. Just told us there was nothing he could do because that side of the park was built in the 50s and there wasn’t enough electrical power and they wouldn’t upgrade it. He left and the power kept shutting off even more. Several people were having the same problem. My husband called because he is an electrician and he said the first guy didn’t even open the box. My husband said someone needed to at least check the connections. This time an electrician was sent who was very nice and actually cleaned the connections and we had fewer problems after that (but still some). They offered to move us to a different site. We said no because we were leaving the next day. But it took several hours of our time staying around the RV waiting on the electrician because so many people were having problems. So my advice is to book 13 months in advance at the very moment reservations open so that you get a site in the newer half. Don’t stay in the older half. Other than the power, our 35th anniversary trip was amazing.

A tad on the expensive side but it's all about the location. We stayed three nights at one of the "classic" (gravel, non-paved) RV sites. All hookups worked perfectly (50A) and the area was clean and quiet. Shuttle bus stop is a three-minute walk from the campsites and this free service takes you to pretty much anywhere in the park you'd want to go; they run every 10-15 minutes. Would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed my stay. The camp host is an awesome guy! So nice and full of information!
