We had a blast last year and decided to come back at least one more time. The second time around, we knew what we needed to do to improve our stay. Mainly, we took extra padding for the mattress, including a cooling pad because the plastic-covered mattresses hold body heat. That was a game changer! We were so comfortable and slept well. We also knew which cabins we'd prefer. We had fun looking at all the cabins last year and kept note of where we'd like to stay. Our most preferred cabin must be everyone's favorite because I couldn't reserve it. So we stayed in 435D. It's a Christmas Cabin at the end of the road. The porch faces the woods so we had some privacy. My husband really likes the cabin and the location. I can't remember the name of the cabin we stayed in last year but it looks like Lake Rudolph isn't using those this year. It was a bit crowded for our family of 6. The Christmas Cabin was much more comfortable. As far as cleanliness, the only issue we noticed is that it seems that they don't mop the floors. They LOOK clean but everything that touches them is covered in a film of black. And FYI: they will not let you in early. We were about 20 minutes early and weren't allowed to check in. It didn't really bother us but it is something to be aware of with traveling time. Overall, we love staying at Lake Rudolph. We love the camping atmosphere, the golf cart parade, the slides, pool, putt-putt, activities, ice cream, and closeness to Holiday World (we used the shuttle the first day and the second day we parked our cart by the gate and walked to Holiday World). We budget for two days of Lake Rudolph slides ($10 a person all day) but the kids opted for one day of slides and one day playing games in the arcade. Our kids were already making plans for next year about decorating the golf cart for the parade. I asked them, "We were thinking of doing something different next year for vacation. Do you want try something new or come back here?" Everyone said they wanted to go back to Lake Rudolph.

The place is huge. A lot bigger than I anticipated. Rented a cabin, while not high end, they are very clean and comfortable. Also rented a golf cart. It had just enough charge to get from the front gate to the cabin before needing to be plugged in. I will update this when I have finished my stay.

We had a really nice site for our little pop up. They have so much to do there. Pretty loud and a lot of traffic. Like, a lot! Very convenient and nice place but I prefer less people… also very expensive for our pop up as it was $110.

We had a great time. Stayed for a week for our family vacation. Very clean, excellent service and top notch amenities. We had some trouble with our slide out when packing up to leave. Maintenance assisted with trouble shooting and loaning tools. They really saved the day!

First off security was really rude and aggressive over an accident. The pull out bed sheet had blood all over it, we tried to just change the sheet the blood had went through to the mattress, so I’m guessing the bedding was not changed. Golf cart was nice to have but while driving we had kids driving crazy within the campground. Going around us and cutting us off and not stopping at stop signs. Overall the campground was ok but for that price I had higher exceptions. Maybe security should be monitoring inside the campground instead of harassing people waiting to check in.

It's so rare to find a place that you wish you would have booked one more night. We had a mini vacation. 3 days 2 nights. Holiday world was a blast. The water park was great. The campground was a bit of nostalgia for me. Having grown up with cabins and lakes this was prefect. The cabin was clean, ac was great. Appliances and BBQ were in great shape and very usable. We brought a cooler of food, and we were set. There is also a tonne to do. Multiple playgrounds, great kids pool, mini Waterpark, decent food, and desserts. Mini golf, characters walking around and probably things I just didn't stumble upon. If you're on the fence, I would recommend you give it a go.

Our first trip here. We absolutely loved it. All of the staff is very friendly. The park is very clean and we looked out with good neighbors. Golf carts are available to rent and they have golf cart light parades a few days during the week which is fun. They do trash pickup everyday. You just put your trash on the curb and they come around which is lovely. It's right next to Holiday world and splash and Safari so we will most definitely be back to stay! Our spot was right up against the wall to where splash and Safari is so we can hear the music and the rides. If you want it quieter. This place is huge so you can definitely have the in the woods feel further away from the water park. You can tent camp. Bring your camper or rent cabins. There are so many cool options. As well as a pool slides, arcade, craft area and more.

We visit every year super excited to return thank you for having places to rent. Cleaning is a difficult job especially the demand u have. If everyone did their part and left the cabins tidy that would be helpful for all.. what if they didn’t have staff to clean and the cabins were shut down. We would all suffer.. Ours is always tidy when we leave..

We definitely will not be back to this place. Their cabin prices make it seem like they think they’re at the Disney level and they certainly are not. I was disgusted by the cabin. I felt like everything just seemed dirty in the kitchen. There were no kitchen towels or bath towels in the entire place. No dishwasher, so that means no one probably actually washes the dishes. I read on the website to bring our own sheets and bedding, but I must’ve overlooked that there were no towels. We had to go to the local Dollar General to buy some towels. The floor seemed very dirty. It made me cringe to walk on it with anything but my shoes on. The patio was very dingy and grimy and there was mold on the grill utensils. I was afraid to touch the grill or sit on the patio. It needed power washed. It was a shame that a large patio was part of our price but we were unable to use it. We had a cabin with the loft and the ceiling in the loft was ridiculously low. The golf carts driving around everywhere were annoying and dangerous. We even came up on golf carts that were driven by children. I’m surprised somebody has not gotten seriously hurt from a collision between a golf cart and a vehicle. We ended up checking out a night early and just went home. I was just so ready to get out of there.

I'm so sad to have to write this. We paid for the cabin that sleeps 9 at $360+ a night for 4 nights. Upon arriving at first glance everything looked great. Later that night, my 10 year old got locked in the bathroom because the door handle would not open. We had to call maintenance and they got her out and said they would be back to fix the lock but they did not return. We noticed the bottom of our feet and our socks were completely filthy from walking around barefoot in the cabin floors. We had just arrived two hours previously and had not left the cabin yet. Upon getting the beds ready in the loft, we noticed what appeared to be black mold and the AC unit that was actively blowing onto the beds. We called maintenance again and they told me they would send somebody out. They sent them out, they looked at it and told us there was nothing they could do and they get the complaint a lot. I had to be the one to suggest that they have somebody come and bleach it. They sent bleach over but there was still a mold left and now the stench of bleach filled the entire top of the cabin. For the duration of our four nights we did not run the AC unit in the loft and had the most uncomfortable and muggy sleeps. The fact that they told us it was a common problem, and that there was nothing that they could do (buy a new one/CLEAN it/ Switch our cabin/give a partial refund/ literally anything!?) made me uncomfortable about the cleanliness of the rest of our stay and I can't say I feel safe enough to return again next time we visit holiday world. It is too expensive in a town with one activity to do to have to worry about breathing in black mold and to be told its a common complaint. Upon leaving we saw the requirements to check out which include cleaning the entire place ourselves and it really makes me question if all the tidying up is left to the previous guest entirely or if they come in at all.

Overall, Sun Outdoors needs to re-evaluate because several customers are leaving. Campers are chatty. None of them appreciate the outrageous price increase with several noting this is their last year. It's even more sad when you hear that this is a family tradition for folks that now has to end.|This was our 2nd year here, hoping to make it a tradition of our own, but I don't think that is feasible. Thankfully, we booked our trip last year and got the 2023 pricing. Looking at the pricing this year, it's silly.|Pros: We had an updated cabin that was very nice. The beds were comfortable. It was clean *enough* (see more info in cons), the pool and water park ($) were fun. There were not too many people during our stay (no overcrowding at all). Maintenance was prompt with our golf cart issue. Free pool access and mini golf. Convenient access to the Activities Center and Camp Store in case you need anything. Our cabin did have plenty of silverware, dishes, salad plates, dinner plates, a colander, cups, a toaster, pots/pans, a baking sheet, a "scrubbie," dish soap, a roll of paper towels, 3 rolls of tp, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. BE SURE TO BRING TOP SHEETS, COVERS, POOL TOWELS, BATH TOWELS, WASH RAGS, KITCHEN TOWELS, BATH MAT, ETC. |Cons: WOW! Don't arrive early! Usually, when you arrive at a place before check in, they will accommodate you if a facility is available OR pre-register you and then call when your facility is ready. Not here. Check in was 3p and we arrive (after hours of travel) at 2:20. We would have been fine if our cabin wasn't ready quite yet, but we are fairly certain one would have been available because the attendant didn't even ask for our name and it was so close to check in. She said that check in wasn't until 3p so we couldn't enter. We needed to use the restroom (after traveling) but were informed it would be a $30 early entry fee. Disgruntled, we sought a restroom at a grocery store and parked in the office parking lot until 3p on the dot. While golf cart riding, we noticed that some areas of the campground had a terrible sewage smell. One of the slides at the water park wasn't operational, but that happens. Regarding cabin cleanliness, while it was acceptable, there was pet hair on the ledges of the couch, ledges of the baseboards, and ALL OVER the front porch. |And, again, the new pricing structure.....as is often heard after a buy-out, it really hurts the previous, dedicated customers. We hope that Sun Outdoors can consider their demographic regarding this location and honor the previous level of service.

Staff at front office and check-in are very nice. The cabins are not worth the price. We had a lot of rain and our living room flooded, the maintenance man (who was a teen) came in and said “oh wow” “well there’s nothing we can do about this, so I will let a manager know and make sure you aren’t charged for damages” this was night one, next day, we went to the pool (which needs serious cleaning there was clumps of hair and used bandaids in it) we went back to our cabin (525) and was loading up stuff to take to my sisters cabin and all the smoke alarms were going off, called maintenance again and another 2 teens came and were nice and left to go get stuff to fix the alarms as there was no reason they should be going off. That night we got more storms so again we had flooding in our cabin. We also were missing a blind in the living room that these 2 teens said they were going to get some and never did. Also again stated we wouldn’t be charged for missing items because of the blinds and the fact that the cabin next door took the patio chairs from our deck before we arrived so we didn’t have any. Again staff up front are nice, maintenance nice but mostly kids who put bandaids on or fix nothing. We stayed in the Christmas cabin

Over run by teenagers. Nice campground. Prices are too high. Will I come back? No. But, it was a nice camp ground. If there was more adults running it and had rules about not letting teenagers go ham on golf carts and act nuts and a noise restriction around 10 or 11 it would be perfect.

Stayed at Lake Rudolph in an RV for a week and really nothing special about it. I felt that it was very over priced for the amenities they offered. There was a swimming pool that was overcrowded with balls flying everywhere hitting people and the lifeguards never addressed it. We were charged a $105.00resort fee which it was no way a resort, you payed for all extras except the pool. They had ALOT of golf carts on the roads that were be being driven erratically by kids!! Which was against policy unless your a licensed driver. They also had a concession stand ice cream was reasonably priced but if you wanted a hotdog it was $9.50 . The only thing they have going for is being next to holiday world. This is our first and last time staying.

We booked a 6night stay here from June 30th till July 6th The first 2 days we spent at holiday world. The third day we explored the town attractions and went to the Lincoln boy hood home memorial all great. But as the 4th of July came around the campground threw the rule book out of the window. They have clear spots here for rv and tent camping. Well a storm rolled through so some tent campers took it upon them selves to take over what they thought was an empty rv spot cus it was on higher ground well an rv showed up and the tent people told them to to just find another spot. My wife complained because we wanted to have other family come and we're led to believe based on the rules that it would cause us to have to many people on our site. The tent campers have atleast 10 people over there now and 4 tents set up on the spot. We were basically blown off when we complained. Overall the camp ground would be a lot better too if it weren't for having to dodge little kids driving the rental golf carts everywhere you go. The staff could also consider checking the bathhouse periodically for cleaning rather than once a day at random morning times out side of what the posted close time is.
