This is an amazing gem tucked away in southern Indiana. The campground is clean. I saw no trash. The bathroom and showers were clean. There was some cobwebs in bathroom stalls. This campsite has a lot of fun activities on site to keep everyone entertained. Pools, waterslides, playgrounds, mini golf, gem mining, and much more…and you can rent a golf cart to zoom around or even be in a golf cart parade.

We have gone to Lake Rudolph over Father’s Day weekend for the last 10 years. Until this year we took our RV and rented one of their RV Sites. They are decent but some are difficult to get into because of trees, other campsites too close and the somewhat hilly terrain. The price for the sites has gone up over 50% in the last 2 years. However since it was tradition we continued to go. This year we had a mechanical problem with our RV at the last minute so we had to change to a cabin. After reading the reviews and looking at the CRAZY HIGH PRICES we almost called off the trip. Our granddaughter was really looking forward to it and we really didn’t want to disappoint her do we decided to splurge on one of the family cabins. It was a lot of work getting ready because even with the HIGH prices they do not furnish top sheets, bedspreads or towels and wsshcloths or even a dish towel. It was not very clean especially the floors and the air conditioning vents. The worst part was the cabin was so hot. We contacted the office and they sent 2 service people to work on it because it was “froze up”. They got it working but told us the cabin would not get any cooler than 72 degrees because the thermostat cannot be set any lower than that. They told us that was the case for every cabin. 72 degrees would be fine but the temperature in the cabin never got below 78. It was very uncomfortable especially trying to sleep. When we went to the office the second day the said they would move us to another cabin. It was not an ideal solution because we had to pack up everything and move it all to another cabin. This would have been okay but the 2nd cabin was even hotter than the first one. It stayed about 80 degrees regardless of what we set the thermostat on. The only place cooler was the loft area that had a separate window unit. The stairs were very steep and you cannot stand upright in the loft so anyone with any back or mobility problems could not get up there. We did not sleep well at all due to being so uncomfortable. We did stop by the office when we checked out and told them once again of our voncerns and that our weekend was disrupted and uncomfortable even though the prices are exorbitant! They did agree to refund one night. Even with the refund the weekend was very expensive. Sadly our whole family is disillusioned with Lake Rudolph and will not be returning. It is the end of a long tradition but we feel like we could enjoy ourselves much more somewhere else for CONSIDERABLY less money.

Lots of teenagers drinking and driving golf carts while blaring music at night. Not as quiet or as cheap as it was before Sun bought it. Unfortunately it's still the closest place to stay and does offer a shuttle to get to/from the theme park. Showers were ice cold.

We had a great experience this time after a not so good one a few years ago but our main problem was when you all had campers...We stayed in a Candy Cane Cottage this time..Very nice!!!! We had a great time and my autistic son loves it here, his favorite vacation spot.. Thanks and your improvements are noticed and appreciated 🙂

This campground grew on us, the slides cost campers extra which is lame, the site they gave us was extremely small with a limb hanging over it that would have scratched the camper they gave us a new site and it’s extremely un level which seems to be on oar for the camp ground so bring a lot of blocks. The atmosphere is fun you definitely should get a golf cart. The staff is nice. Kinda pricey for what you get though.

We rented their cabins which were super expensive per night, but they looked nice and are right next to Holiday World. The location is great. It also would be a nice place to spend several days with all their amenities. Their camp shop was super cool and had several things if you ever forgot something. On the downfall there were several things broken or missing and for the price we paid that was very disappointing. My sister's cabin had a broken broom, missing fire extinguisher, and the TVs didn't work (which the TVs weren't huge but for the price we paid you'd think they would have things top notch). Ours had a broken towel rack laying on the floor, our TVs did not work well either, and several or the window shades had broken pieces. We did contact the staff and they did bring a fire extinguisher and try to work on the TVs.

Location was great. Right next to holiday world. The cabins left much to be desired. We stayed in one of the holiday cottages (252). A list of issues I have especially for the price point: 1. Linoleum floors were flapping in the wind. They were no longer glued down and moved every step you made. 2. The kitchen sink faucet was impossible. It flopped around and was very difficult to find hot water. 3. Only 2 eyes on the stove worked and the oven wouldn't get up to temperature. I cooked chicken for 1 hour on 400 degrees and it was still raw. We called maintenance to help with the issue but it was never resolved or followed up on. 4. The shower curtain was moldy 5. There was some kind of orange goop that came from the toilet tank every time it was flushed. 6. The ceiling fan in the living space would never turn on and the blades were floppy. 7. There were 100 light switches and we never found out what some of them went to. 8. For some reason the bunk bed in the kids room was 10x more comfortable. 9. No pot holders or dish towels available. The additional amenities seemed nice but I definitely there is room for improvement. We paid nearly $500 for 2 nights with a 30% off promo code. Without the promo code it would have been $700+/-.

We have been visiting Lake Rudolph during their Halloween weekends for 12 years. We have 9 families with multiple kids of various ages and we all rent cabins. It is a fun weekend but unfortunately this year will be our last year. I called this week to book cabins for 2025 and two nights will cost each family $754.88. These are not five star accommodations and we cannot justify that price.

We’ve stayed there for over 13 years and the recent price increase for 2025 is outrageous! We rent 6-7 cabins for our entire family. We will be looking elsewhere after his year. These prices are more than most nice hotels and are absolutely ridiculous for a cabin.

We stayed from Friday-Monday and 10/10 recommend. We stayed in a tent camp site. Having electric and water was nice. The bathrooms near 119K were personal bathrooms with a shower, toilet, and sink. So much better than a community bathroom. They were cleaned every morning. There’s no where to hang our towel or clothes so maybe prepare for that. We rented a golf cart and did the golf cart parade. We had last minute glow sticks but it was still a lot of fun. We seen golf carts with small pool blow ups as decorations. Next time we will be prepared and go all out. For the parade you can throw out candy and kids really do stand outside and wait. They meet at the lake at 8:30 to start the parade every Saturday

My bf and I camped there for the first time in 2023 and loved it. We were going to make this a new vacation destination but never mind we won't be going back due to their 82% price increase. We paid $347.00 last year back in site with full hookups and this year the price is $994 for 8 nights. This is crazy! We go to Wisconsin dells to another awesome campground and pay $447 for 8 nights. Santa Claus Indiana is in the middle of NOWHERE! These prices are way too expensive for the average person to afford. Sad to say Corporate GREED is flying high! Sun Outdoor should be ashamed of themselves for these HUGE and UNJUSTIFIED price hikes. We absolutely won't be back I am a small business owner and I will definitely let my customers know about this HUGE price increase! 1k a week to camp is just insane!

This review is strictly a simple observation of what I see as a strong example of American Greed!!! I'm in no way trying to discourage anyone from doing business with this particular company, I'm only bringing information to light that I believe is factual and will hopefully help someone make an informed financial decision. With that said, I've camped here with family several times over the years. Unfortunately, we will no longer be coming back to Lake Rudolph in the future. I just checked out their website for current pricing and availability and I was completely floored with how much prices have increased ($350+ a night to rent a Christmas Cabin). Who is paying these prices? I guess with new ownership, new pricing was brought with them. This campground has been a place for families to come together(for decades) to decompress and make memories without having to make important financial decisions to do so. In my opinion, the current pricing is disgustingly inexcusable. It's blatantly obvious that they're now targeting a different wealth demographic (I guess ignorance is bliss when you have more money than common sense). In my opinion, these types of business practices will only stop if people come together and refuse to patronize any company conducting business in this manner. This campground is in Southern Indiana for goodness sake, it's not a resort in Orlando or Miami. I know that I'm ranting and they will probably just retort with a generic apology and continue business as usual. With current inflationary pressure that most middle class families(at least what used to be considered middle class) are enduring, the last thing we need is more companies trying to take advantage of the situation. Again, this was strictly my personal opinion and I hope that someone finds it to be helpful!

The people who work there are extremely kind and keep the park/resort clean. The cabins need a little TLC and new beds in the bunk room. We go every year and stay in the same cabin each year… same bed. I recommend bringing an extremely thick mattress cover because if you don’t, you’ll be leaving with horrible back pain.

We rented the “legendary” cabin for the 6 of us. The pictures were very different than what it was. It is very very compact. Not even room to do family games. You can’t open the bedroom door all the way cause the bed is in the way. The bathroom has no exhaust fan. The mattress and pillows were stained. The couch was very broken in and also stained. Don’t even bother with pull out couch as the “mattress” is stuck folded in half and had a ton of dead bugs. The ceiling in the loft area was peeling and appeared to have water damage. The “pads” cause they were not mattresses were falling apart. The cabin was clearly not cleaned well before us as we found a person undergarment on the living room floor which was impossible to miss. We were given a map and list of activities on our arrival for the park and after we are told everything the person said well none of this matters to you cause it’s not open or happening today or tomorrow. While the location was great next to holiday world, it’s not easy to get too. There is nowhere to park but in this “cul-de-sac” like area where everyone having a cabin in that area also has to park, making it almost impossible to have somewhere to park. For the price we paid I expected it to be much nicer (similar to the description and photos). I am never one to complain but I’ve never been so let down with a trip ever. We found that everything at the camp ground is closed on Mondays. Which we had no clue of. We chose to leave first thing in the morning. I’d rather find something else to do then sit on top of one another in this cabin. We will not be returning. They need to do major updates. I hate leaving these reviews but people need to be ready for what they will be really staying in vs what they show you for the price they charge. Huge huge let down. Buyer be aware!

This has been my family's favorite place to camp since 2015. UNTIL new management took over and skyrocketed the prices. It went from being $50 a night to $160+ a night for a week. For the first time since 2015 we won't be spending a week camping here in 2024. For prices at $160+ a night you'd except to be somewhere like Disney World. People camp because it's something relatively affordable and low key for the entire family to enjoy, relax, and spend time together, but at prices this steep, we will be looking elsewhere to spend a week in the summer and a week celebrating Halloween as a family.
