I really wanted to like this place, it is beautiful. However, the lack of maintenance, outdated and dirty bathrooms, trash at campsite, broken power connectors, and no support after 6pm easily earned this place a 2 star. I gave 4 stars due to the staff being extremely friendly and helpful.

Really nice staff and campsites. Very clean and easy to find, I think we paid 18 a night for our spot. They also had bathrooms with showers very close to camp site. 👌🏾

Good hikes, and well labeled trails. Campground restroom was clean. We are going back soon!

If they spent 1 penny of my tax money to update the bathrooms I wouldn't hate this place! The bathrooms haven't been updated since it opened 100 years ago! Shame on you!

Woodsy campground with great hiking trails close by. Bathhouse could use an update but everything worked fine.

Nice campground for the most part. Moderate to high shade, paved and slightly hilly cmpgnd roads (bikeable). Serviceable "pavilion" and shower/restroom could use some attention & cleaning. Appreciated the heated shower/restroom. If you're a slow-moving senior or handicapped person expect to be timed out by the lights at night. Pleasant staff, promptly dealt with incessant dog barking nearby. Very limited TV reception and no WiFi (actually staff seemed just clueless about latter). Nice beach area that is not marked on the road and easily missed through the woods and down a hill.

Great campground in an Excellent park. So much to do. Entry into the pull thru sites is very awkward with a large rig and power is 30 Amp but overall a great experience!

Oak Mountain State Park itself is amazing! I’m at a primitive campsite, but it’s in between RV’s and I can hear children, and babies 24/7. I work with kids and wanted a nice weekend away from everyone, and that did not happen here.

I was told i could not sleep in my Expediton cause that is what i sleep in but yet there was van lifers there sleeping in their vehicles!!! Bathrooms were very dirty and needs a much needed upgrade. Shower was awful. the faucet handle to the shower was broken.

Campground could use some improvements - the bond issue should help with that. Looks like they're installing wi-fi on some poles by the bath houses. Given that this is the largest State Park in Alabama, the camp store is woefully small compared to DeSoto or Cheaha. There is probably a lot of revenue they're missing out on that could be used to fund improvements. There also seems to be less activities for kids such as camp fire story telling, night hikes, bug searches and such that are available at the other smaller parks. That said, it's a very nice place to camp and relax.

Stayed here in a 28 ft trailer in mid May. The park is a little run down but we liked it. Good WiFi, 30 amp power, sewer and water, and level spots. Bath house was in rough shape but plenty of hot water, I used it quite a bit and found it OK. We would stay here again.

It’s magical here. Bath houses do need updating. Rates are good and plenty to do. We had a blast and the scenery is beautiful. Super quiet after dark.

Was the best stop yet for myself. Highly recommend if you just love the serene peacefulness of the park. The lake is stunning alone. I will definitely go back as soon as I can.

Didn't camp here but rode our gravel bikes from our RV Park into the park on the beautiful bike lane they have. We checked out the mountain bike trails and hiking trails. We then went back 3 different days and rode the mountain bike trails on our mountain bikes. Loved the trails only issue I had was that we had to pay $5 per person each day since the only other option was an annual pass that was $280 and we are on the road just visiting for 5 nights.
