Has potential to be a nice place. Too many construction workers living there. Loud cars/trucks 5am. mud is everywhere from trucks cutting off corners. People do not obey safe driving habits or speed limits. Bugs need to be sprayed . Dog park is a 30x30 square - hardly enough room to get exercise. Activities are lacking👎

Great clean and safe RV park. They offer shaded and unshaded slips. Community pool, shuffle board and PICKELBALL courts. Just a few minutes from Sunrise mall in Brownsville.

My family and I stayed here for a week on our trip down to visit family. It’s in a nice quiet part of Brownsville. While there isn’t much to do in the immediate area of the park, you are not a long drive from a lot of the great things Brownsville has to offer. Also, just 30-40 min from south padre, depending on the traffic. We stayed across the street from the pool, which my kids loved. The pool was a great size and never felt too crowded. When we weren’t at the pool our little ones loved playing in the in the large grassy areas and climbing the mesquite tree by our site. Overall we can’t wait to stay here again!

All considering this park needs a lot and is neglected and over rated. Stayed her for a week based on reviews and is not what we expected. First the park is in the middle of no where and I mean no where. Nothing within biking distance or walking distance, the winds are non stop windy. The grass is still, well there isn’t any nor do they water to grow any, was all weeds which they don’t keep trimmed or cut. Dust and dirt in the trailer everyday. The water is incredibly hard and stains everything. The pool(only 1 pool for the size of this park) get full quick. If you don’t have your seat or chair by 9am bring your own. Oh yah, though they do offer good rates on gold carts, you will need it because it’s a long drive to the pool. There is also a daily resort fee per person for whatever reason they tack onto your bill. The park is way over rated and way over priced considering all the conditions I listed. And the funny part of this, if you go to there website they claim it’s a 9.5 star according to good sams reviews, yet when you go to good sams reviews to look up there park it isn’t listed. Definitely don’t recommend this park nor will we ever return.

This is our third winter at tropical trails. If you are a glamper this is the place for you if you are a social creature This is the place for you.. this is one of the top RV resorts in America. The staff is very professional and helpful. this is our seventh year as a full-time RVer. That being said we will not be back not because of the RV park but because of the wind, it is relentless day and night nonstop. Of course there’s nothing the RV park can do about the wind. If you’re near the ocean, there’s going to be wind. We just can’t take the wind anymore! I still give this place five stars!

Be careful! They charge you more directly on the credit card than it was confirmed when we did the reservation. We also changed the dates a few weeks before our arrival and they didn’t credit the days we cancelled. I have all the confirmations by email and they don’t want to reimbursed us and it’s more than 200$. There is also a train who pass every night and horn. I don’t recommend this RV resort, because they don’t respect their price!

We did like staying there because of the space we got, but it got super expensive. The prices went up double, so yes we did leave. Also make sure to verify that you do get your deposit back. I haven't received mine since November and whenever I call they say they will get back to me and never do and the manager doesn't even answer my email. They won't hesitate to take your money but whenever it comes to get it back just be prepared.

Tropical Trails RV resort had great options for day rates, weekly and monthly options. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, fitness center, and activities they provide. We appreciated their assistance with things as they came up and they were very responsive to requests and made themselves available. They just installed new washers/dryers, so it was nice to have upgraded options with access to an app for easy payment. It even gave notifications on our phone when the laundry was done. Come prepared with some bug spray! We noticed the mosquitos were bad during our stay (winter season). Once it rains (couple times a week) it seems they all come out (to hunt). The RV resort also had a new irrigation system so it allowed more breeding ground. They are working out the kinks and also spray to minimize the mosquitoes, but we still got ate….just come prepared! During the winter, large flocks of birds migrate to the area, it is also important to note that the birds will often frequent your roof and you will hear them walking around and squawking, and do sometimes poop on vehicles. We didn’t notice any harm or concerns, but do take note. We had to keep a wipe and spray on hand to clean surfaces and spot clean as needed. Keep in mind, the admin team got a new invoicing system that they were learning to operate and they were working out the kinks in the system during our stay. Do note, a train comes at 9pm, 12am, 3am and 6am. It isn’t too loud, but enough to where you do notice it. We expected it to go by, so we were prepared. After a week we stopped noticing it so much. Other than this, we had a great stay! Hope this information helps you prepare for your vacation!

We stayed in a cottage and it was very clean, nice and a great a.c . The front porch was nice, especially in the evening. The pool was awesome and the few guest we encountered were very friendly. Oh, and the office staff (Jan) was awesome as well. The RV spots were roomy, not right next to your neighbor with all full hookups including 50 amp service. They say it gets full during the winter with all kinds of activities. Sounds like a fun place.

Absolutely recommend. Essentially new park, 2 yrs old I believe. Awesome pool with hottub, built for adults and kids! Private shower stalls, IYKYK. Super friendly staff! Nice laundry facility, gym and clubhouse. They offer several options for setups with competitive pricing. I chose a site within an area where all sites have 50' in between naturally creating great neighbors. They have back-ins, pull throughs, small affordable sites and big luxury sites. The location couldn't be better, I averaged 18 mins to the causeway to island, you can be at either HAR or BRO airport in 20 mins or less. I'm so glad I found this place and have enjoyed thoroughly, eay better option than KOA or Isla Blanca on SPI, and Port Isabel looked rough all over. This park was built methodically and with the sole purpose of having guests enjoy the resort, they didn't cut corners. The only drawback is, NO SHADE around rv sites, but it's a NEW park, the trees are in the ground and are watered everyday. I look forward to staying here many many many more times in the future. Kudos to owners for doing it right👏👏👏

If I could give them more stars I would. This place is amazing. Everything was well maintained, staff and people at the park were friendly. Most of all it was quiet. No loud traffic, everything you need to settle in and enjoy a few days of rest and relaxation. I would recommend this place to anyone, truly one of the best places I’ve stayed in a long time.

BEWARE BEFORE YOU GO…. Tropical Trails is a beautiful resort and I wish to thank you for the wonderful hospitality your employees showed us during our recent stay. The sites are large but due to events and miscommunications I would precede with caution. We read all the reviews and watched all the You Tube Videos on Tropical Trails prior to our month stay in March. The “heated Pool” was freezing, the Jacuzzi has an occupancy of only 8, we never found the gorgeous walking and biking trails except for the blacktop roads that lead through the park, the resort is not within walking distance to any of the water activities that are shown on the videos, and the wind blew daily for almost the entire month. At times the wind is so strong that many pulled in their slide outs. Look closely at the videos … hardly anyone is swimming in the pool because it is too cold; the wind is blowing in most of them as shown by the trees. One CANNOT PARTICIPATE in any of the off Resort planned activities unless you have your own transportation. This park is perfect if you wish to use it as a home base and explore the area. This is NOT the type of Resort Park you go to snowbird in March and stay on site.
