BEWARE BEFORE YOU GO…. Tropical Trails is a beautiful resort and I wish to thank you for the wonderful hospitality your employees showed us during our recent stay. The sites are large but due to events and miscommunications I would precede with caution. We read all the reviews and watched all the You Tube Videos on Tropical Trails prior to our month stay in March. The “heated Pool” was freezing, the Jacuzzi has an occupancy of only 8, we never found the gorgeous walking and biking trails except for the blacktop roads that lead through the park, the resort is not within walking distance to any of the water activities that are shown on the videos, and the wind blew daily for almost the entire month. At times the wind is so strong that many pulled in their slide outs. Look closely at the videos … hardly anyone is swimming in the pool because it is too cold; the wind is blowing in most of them as shown by the trees. One CANNOT PARTICIPATE in any of the off Resort planned activities unless you have your own transportation. This park is perfect if you wish to use it as a home base and explore the area. This is NOT the type of Resort Park you go to snowbird in March and stay on site.

Coming home from a week long vacation this place and their staff were our savor! Traveling in our RV we had picked up a screw and was slowly loosing tire pressure. Not only was it a Sunday but also Memorial Day weekend. We had called several places and slowly creeping along when we had happened upon this place. We figured if we couldn’t find help on a flat this would at least be a place that we would be safe off the road. The staff not only gave great hospitality but also gave us the jack we needed to raise the camper and fix the flat ourselves. They also offered us restrooms and a cool place to sit. If you get a chance to ever stay at this place I would highly recommend it. Friendly folks and a very well kept clean place.

Tropical Trails is a true paradise! Hill and his staff do an amazing job arranging live music on the patio once a week, usually with frozen margaritas. They have shrimp boils. Also serve some breakfasts, lunches and have the occasional foodtrucks. Every Saturday they have a farmers market at the club house parking lot. Off site they arrange group activities such as 40' catamaran cruises for dolphin watching which they also served cooked fresh on the boat shrimp appetizers, steak and chicken fajitas. Hill supplied all the beer and wine you wanted. Great time! Also, zoo trip and a local rodeo.if you were bored here it was your own fault. We didn't use the showers or laundry but looked in and they were nice and clean. The pool and the hot tub were beautiful. The club house and grounds were kept immaculate with gabage pick up daily. The 50' on both sides of our camper was much appreciated after being jammed into an rv park at Mesa Spirit in Mesa Az. As full time RV'ers if we could just travel with Tropical Trails we would truly be happy campers! Carla worked many of the functions and she always had the biggest smile and was so sweet. The only downside is the wind...very few days it didn't blow like crazy. Still the absolute best spot we've ever stayed!

Just amazing. A fairly new park, but the staff make sure you feel like home. Tons of activities to do. Happy hour once a week with live entertainment and who can beat those $3 margaritas. Trips to South Padre island as a group or trips to Mexico all arranged by the park. We spent 5 months here and have already signed up for another 5 months in 2022.

Absolutely loved every minute of our stay. The owner Hill and his wife Donelle treated us like family. We certainly felt part of the Tropical Trails RV Resort community. We made great friends with the awesome staff Carla Jan, Caterina, Mike and Juan. We cannot say enough of how they made sure we enjoyed ourselves. We will keep in touch and can’t wait to return next March. We become instant friends with Hill when on the second day we were there I volunteered my husband Scott to do Karaoke at the pool. That was such a fun day with Hill making sure everyone was having a great time and was filling our cups with Whispering Angel Rose. Scott became an instant hit and ended up part of the entertainment line up and played 3 more times during our stay. We attended and thoroughly enjoyed so many activities such as a catamaran tour on South Padre Island, trips to Mexico, Shrimp Boil, Broken Sprocket, musical entertainment and too many other events to mention. They even let me use their office when I had a very important meeting. That was so hospitable of them. They do whatever they can to make sure you feel welcome and have a wonderful time. When we came down we thought we would check out other parks but knew we found the best so no need to do that. It is only a half hour away from South Padre Island and ten minutes from grocery and other stores. We stayed in one of the cottages and they were well equipped, very nice and comfortable. Definitely a home away from home. The park has a beautiful pool area and three different laundry facilities since the park is so big. We walked it often and it is approximately 6 km or 3.7 miles to walk the entire park. It has spacious RV spots unlike most of the RV parks in the area. We made so many other lasting friendships with the guests of the park. Nicest people you could ever meet. I love that the resort has a Facebook page where we can keep in touch with everyone plus the numerous new friends we now have on Facebook. Most will return next year and we can’t wait to reconnect then. When doing a search last year on Google for RV parks in Brownsville I found this one and knew then it looked amazing. It did not disappoint. I sure was lucky to find this place. So if you are looking for a great RV park in the Rio Grande area look no further. You have found the best place. Thank you again Hill for the great memories. See you next March. Paula and Scott Carson

Just spent 4 months at the very well spaced park in Brownsville. The staff was over the top with all requests during our stay. Kat and Jan were on top of every detail from info to billing. Lots to do during the winter starting in January. Juan and the ground crew were great from the moment we arrived. Great stay and planning on returning next year.

Went to visit it today to see if we'd be interested in staying there for 3 months next year. We booked this about a month ago for 2023. It was not up to our expectations and I requested to cancel. They refunded $150 Of $200 deposit.I tried to speak to the owner and he refused, went into an office and shut the door on me while I was speaking to him. How unbelievably rude! Now I'm very upset and quite honestly glad we won't be going there but I feel that I should get 100% back because it's a year in advance and they said they have a waiting list. we have several seasonal rentals and we have never refused to give our guests full refunds for canceling 30 days or more in advance. Shame on this resort!!

Started out a little disappointed, enjoyed my stay. Upon leaving, I expressed my concerns. After they verified my concerns were valid, they actually compted me a night,(unexpectedly). They actually really take customer satisfaction very, very seriously. Would recommend this park to everyone. As an RV Park owner I was very impressed.

Relatively new park. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The sites are well maintained. The concrete pads were level and long enough for a 40 ft class A and parking the towed. The sites have an impressive amount of space between the sites. They are still working on getting the grass established between sites. Large pool and pool area. Hot tub adjacent to the pool. Pickleball courts and shuffleboard next to the pool area. Fitness center was not large but had some equipment. There are 3 laundry/shower/restroom buildings. Lots of organized activities. Vendors occasionally on property by office. This is a large park but it is spread out so the is no cramped feeling. Outside of the city, has a country feel but 5 minutes and you're in rthe heart of Brownsville. Definitely recommend.

This is a great park, lots to keep you busy. Owner and staff go out of there way to help. Only problem is the wind, it blows almost every day. We were there 2 months and got to put our awning 4 times. When the say it’s breezy put everything away, if they say windy put everything inside or tie it down.

2nd year we’ve been to Tropical Trails and we will be going back next year. Last year we “accidentally” found this park and while it was a bit pricey we decided to go. OMG! What you get for this money is awesome! The absolute largest lot size we’ve ever had, excellent internet, so many scheduled activities and staff that actually remembers your name. Oh and BTW, it’s not all that pricey compared to other places. We had a super deluxe site and have found this to be no more expensive that lessor parks. Hill and all the staff are so customer service focused you’d think you were at a 5-star hotel! The pool area is very nice and laundry and shower areas are clean and very nice as well. We were disappointed by the weather this year but believe if Hill could have warmed it up… he would! Let’s talk about the most important aspects. The People! We have made life- long friends at Tropical Trails and expect when we go back next year, we’ll make more. There was even a camper who had a hospital stay and the management and fellow campers took care of the animals and cooked food for the person! You just don’t find that! Suggestions would be perhaps a second dog park because with all the dogs… we need it. Maybe an ATM???? IDK what else this park could offer but we are fans! Thanks Hill, Donell and all the staff❤️

Tropical Trails has great spots for the RVers but they also have cottages for those who are not campers. What a great idea! Everything you need. They have a great pool and hot tub area, ample parking, laundry facilities, and a long fun list of things to do. Everyone is very friendly and always willing to share their experiences of places to eat and things to see. We met many people from all walks of life.

February 2022 turned out to be record-breaking.....colder and windier than normal! Even then, Tropical Trails offered great sites, a comfortable clubhouse, plenty of activities and, did I mention the happy hours? Very fun! The staff works very hard to accommodate guests, from activities to garbage pickup (daily at your site), propane refills (again, pickup and delivery at your site) and keeping the beautiful pool sparkling. Clean restrooms and great laundries. Thank you!
