One of the best stops we have made on our trip! It was a fluke that we ended up at Tropical Trails RV Resort as we need to leave a boon docking location for repairs. It's only a year old and has a little bit of maturing to do(the landscaping/trees) but it will be incredible in the future. The owners, Hill and Donelle are absolute wonderful hosts along with the whole staff. They all go above and beyond to make your stay the best possible experience. A large facility(about 200 spaces) with great amenities! The spaces are huge pull through and back in with generous amounts of space between spots. They have a heated pool and hot tub, pickle ball courts with a group playing pick up games almost every morning. Shuffle board and plenty of area to ride bikes. A large lake that again once it's had time to mature will be incredible. The hosts are constantly arranging group functions to add to the experience of the Brownsville area. Trips guided to cross the border and visit Mexico, a shrimp boil, pickle ball tournament, Superbowl Party and many more activities. The location is outside Brownsville and a nice Tx plains location, within minutes of most anything you could need(HEB Grocery/Wal-Mart/restaurants/banks). It's also only about 30 mins from South Padre Island, a beautiful area to explore the beach and sand dunes, plus restaurants. It is going to be one of our intended return visit locations if we can get in, as once people discover it, we're afraid it will be so popular it will be difficult to find an opening available! If you want a great place to stop and relax, don't pass up Tropical Trails near Brownsville, Texas!

We stayed for a month over the Christmas Holidays and just loved the resort. The site spacing and LARGE concrete pads were amazing, so nice to have. Wonderful staff and facilities. The pool, hot tub, pickle ball courts, shuffle board, were spotless and fun to use. Hill’s margaritas were the best. Bring your bikes...a great way to get around this large park. There was usually a breeze and sometimes higher winds. We will return for a longer stay next time.

Hi everyone, I had the pleasure of staying at Tropical Trails RV Resort in October/November 2020 as I prepared to go to Mexico. This is a standout RV park run by a highly qualified and helpful staff. The amenities are lovely and well cared-for. Dave runs the place and if you are into fishing you couldn't ask for a better local resource than Dave. I highly recommend staying at Tropical Trails.

This is a very well planned resort. The spaces are very generous and all have concrete pads. Our space even had a concrete spot for the car. The roadways are wide and making turns is easy. We had a fire pit that even came with some wood. The dog park is large and had 2 fenced off areas. We didn’t use the showers or laundry but they looked very nice. The park is only about a year old so still needs some grass growing but there was grass around our patio. Also the staff is very friendly and helpful. The respond quickly to any problems. They also send emails about activities.

The sites are huge, never seen any this wide. We only stayed 4 days so we didn’t partake in any activities even though there is a $6 a day fee added onto your bill. I wish that fee was optional. The amenities would be great for long timers. There is a small bit of freeway noise and we heard a train blowing it’s whistle twice. It didn’t disturb our sleep. Get directions to the park from the office to avoid paying a toll. Trash pickup is twice a day except Sunday when there is none unless you pay $2 a bag.

Been staying here since October and let me tell you if your looking for a secure and very comfortable place to stay well this is the place, your near south padre island and my kids saw the space x launch from here. The spaces are spaced out where you don't feel crowded so you feel privacy and the best thing is that the staff is the best. So yes you hear a train but you get use to it and its not all the time. There are amenities and many restaurants near by

We checked in on 11-1-2020. The office personnel are wonderful!! The park is immaculate and spaces are large. It is a fairly new park, but a must stay if you are in the area!! Pool area is Beautiful and the laundry facilities are great. We will definitely be back!! And FYI there is s real nice and welcoming Christian ✝️ Church just on the other side of the underpass, Christian Church of the Valley.

This was a great experience for us. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The park has great amenities. We really enjoyed the pool area and gym. The dogos really enjoyed their stay as well. Great location, close to everything in the area. The sites are well spaced out and really well maintained. We will definitely be going back. We plan to spend a good portion of the summer there.

Great brand new resort. Sites are level concrete, large enough for large rigs plus toads, roads are paved. Lots of space between each site. Landscaping is coming in nicely. Feels very secure, didn’t even have to lock up our bikes. Facilities are new, fresh, clean and awesome. LOTS of activities - pickle ball, shrimp boil, group outings, water aerobics, lots of fun people. Convenient to SPI and also the bike trails are accessible a short 3 mile ride from the resort. The owners and Manager Bonnie are the most hospitable and wonderful people. They know the area and make recommendations and organize the nicest social events. We loved it here and are definitely returning whenever we are in RGV.

This is one of the best RV Resorts we've stayed at. This is truly a "Resort!" Love the wide spacing between RV sites. The pool is huge, Pickleball, Shuffleboard, Bing Pong, Cornhole etc... the list of things to do is many. The owners are amazing. Your only about 20 minutes from the beach & Padre Island. We can not recommend this RV Resort enough! Happy campers!!

Look this a brand new RV park. Very nice staff and helpful in setting up. Spaces are well apart, so when it starts filling up you will not feel crowded. Our pull through was, I think, about 95 feet long. Easy to keep the tow vehicle attached. In 10 to 15 years as grass and landscaping become mature it is going to be very lovely! Be sure to have bug spray. There is some kind of yellow fly that really bites.

Beautiful new park, gated, mostly concrete, not much grass yet, but looks like they are planting as we speak. Was nicely greeted when we went into the clubhouse and asked to view sites & rates...we Saw a pool, 2 lakes, nice common area, bathrooms/showers back-in & pull thrus...from what I saw, it is very nice, but price for a month even for a back in was between $800 to $1000 a month...depending on level of amenity at site...hopefully they will lower monthly or winter season rates so we can try it next year.

Like the other reviews, no expense spared on landscaping done thus far. Pool area is nice; but the charge rates for having a heated pool and it is NOT heated. And this place is NOT cheap. So, with that said as nice as it is it comes with a cost. Have all of the amenities available please. Other than that. Nice big lots and every RV in the park, and vehicles are nice, relatively new, and clean. Lots of muddy areas though, BEWARE!! I wish there was like some limestone rocks or landscape rocks to step on to stay out of the mud. The pool area gate news a step there too. you have to step in the soft grass to get out. Anyway, it'd get 5 stars but not for those small details that we think should be addressed.

Amazing, brand new, up-scale RV resort in the Rio Grande Valley just east of Brownsville. Liked it so much we changed our plans and stayed 2 months. We stayed in a super luxury site, one of their largest type of sites. These are 16 ft. wide by 90ft. long back-in or pull-in concrete pads built for large motorcoaches and have at least 50 ft. between RV sites. There is a 175 sq. ft. concrete patio with picnic table and portable fire pit and a concrete apron for extra vehicle parking. Plenty of room to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The amenities are resort style and very attractive. Quality activities! Staff and owners are very helpful and aim to please their guests. Nice bath houses - separate individual locking shower rooms and also separate restroom facilities. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that there is a train track behind the resort. We personally love trains and even their whistles, so after a night or so, either the train quit coming by ;) or we stopped hearing them all together :) (I only mention this because in Williams, AZ, the trains were something that affected a friend with a condition and he hadn't been informed of them before he stayed there).

Best in Southern Texas. It’s brand new. The owners and staff are a pleasure to deal with. They really want to give winter Texans a great experience. As far as the property and amenities go - I’ve seen nothing better anywhere in Texas. The resort style heated pool, large spa, pickle ball courts, and other amenities were all built to be a real pleasure to use. The clubhouse has a large room for entertaining with an amazing kitchen that you can use for partying. We had a big dinner in it last night. 2 big ovens, 8 burner stove with professional exhaust hood. It was a lot of fun to throw a dinner party using that kitchen. The grounds are expansive with a couple hundred RV spaces across nearly 200 acres. So you have many open areas and spaces between RV sites. And they’ve spent a fortune on high end landscaping with tons of palm trees and sodded areas. Oh, and the nicest dog park I’ve seen anywhere in the country. As the landscaping matures, this place will remain beautiful. Pros: outskirts of Brownsville. Easy proximity to shopping and getting to the beaches on South Padre Island. Secure gate system and no crime worries. No resort in the area has space between RV sites like this one. It really feels like a resort for that reason alone. I feel like we have a 1/2 an acre lot for our rig. Cons: hmm. Only one. Site pads are a little narrower than I prefer. So there’s not a lot of area to entertain outside the door of your rig. But if you don’t throw bashes at your rig like we do, you’ll think I’m just being picky. So, wrapping this up... really like it. Going to stay a month longer than we planned. Everyone that we’ve met have been friendly and are as happy with their decision to winter here. Made lots of new friends and we’ve been doing excursions with as many as six other couples at a time.
