I tried staying in the park on June 29th and it didn't go well. The old part of the park is poorly maintained: overgrown grass, uneven sites, power pedestal issues (ground faults, reversed polarity), potholes in road, rotting wood on campsite picnic tables. When I arrived I thought it was odd that the park was almost empty except for a handful of people that looked like full time residents. I understand why. It's sad because COE parks are usually simple, clean, spacious and well maintained. This one isn't. I didn't see the newer part of the park and wasn't offered a site as the two I tried in the old park were unusable due to power pedestal issues (see above). That said, the gentleman at the check in booth was incredibly friendly and helpful. I'm going to request a full refund for 4 nights as the sites were unusable.

Lovely looking campground. Really good size sites for a tent and nicely spaced. Toilet/shower old and really needs updating but price probably reflects that. There's also a $1 laundry onsite which is bonus for campground. All sites appeared to have water, table, fire pit & power. There are two areas/loops, one looked like for just RVs but great to have so many tent sites.

There are two classes of camping at this park. The Antioch loop is 1-2 stars. The Catoma loop is 4-5 stars. We stayed in Antioch. Sewage smell at times overpowering at our site. Bath house is marginal. People abrupt and less than helpful.

We stayed at Gunter Hill from Feb 18-24, 2019 in site 61. The couple that checks you in is the reason I'm giving Gunter Hill a 3 star rating. Mrs. Host - refused to let us change our site even tho there were many available and ours was under water. Mrs. Host - told us the washers didn't work. One set didn't work, the other set worked just fine. Mr. Host - when i called the third day to ask if we could move was very nice and let us pick the spot we wanted. We have stayed in the past and have been very happy. Restrooms clean, park is beautiful. I have to learn to be more assertive.

Upon arriving at the campground the couple at the gate were not welcoming or helpful. When asked about a walk up site that was marked as available we were told it was double booked. How do you double book a walk up site? The next day there was another walk up site also in the new section. When inquiring about that site we were told it was saved for an emergency. There were a lot of vacant sites in the lower section but the new one was being saved. We definitely question the procedures of the couple at the gate. Also the laundry room only had a large sink no washers or dryers. ? Laundry room.

We had an excellent stay at Gunter Hill Campground, while passing through Montgomery. The park host, Chuck, was helpful and kind. The park was VERY well-kept and clean. Our spot was very enjoyable and wide-open with beautiful trees surrounding it. We'd certainly stay there again, given the opportunity. Yes, there is a speedway several miles away, but it wasn't even audible when we went in the trailer - we actually enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the races as we goofed around in the evening dusk. Beautiful lake to sit next to if you ride your bike down to the deck.

Stayed a few days in December. The campgrounds was very nice and well maintained. My only issue was the gentleman at the gate was very political and had strong opinions and insisted on sharing them. Im sure he had no idea how insulting his comments were to me.

Corps of Engineer campground. Nice strong shower with warm water. Shady site in woods. We stayed only one night, had the park to ourselves. Hot season, so stuck inside till cooler morning. Nice roads for bike ride

We had a nice long pull through site and full hookups. Nice trails to walk. Some poison ivy and a few ants but not bad. Lots of squirrels and flowers. Access to the river with a boat ramp area. The only drawback is that they are right near a race track and Friday and Saturday afternoon until around 9 pm all you can hear is VROOOOM! It rained Sunday but I'm betting there's racing when it doesn't rain. Overall it's a great, not overpriced campground.

Just left another wonderful rally at Gunter Hill RV Park. Full hookups, level concrete pad, and the site was about 60 feet long. Plenty of space between sites. No WiFi but the phones worked all over the park, as did data. (VERIZON) Men's bath house near the Pavilion had a sticky door that a youngster would have trouble with, and sink areas needed some sprucing up. But it was all clean. Roads are,all paved, plenty wide and 2 way. And great for bicycles. Wonderful park. We had camped there 3 times and intend to again. k

An average campground in some nice woods. We were walk-ups from out of town during Irma, so I appreciated the hospitality and the well-maintained grounds. We stayed on the tent loop, so we had electricity, water, a nice picnic table, a fire pit, a charcoal grill, and a lantern post, all on a good gravel tent pad. The view from our site (97) was awesome. Sites were fairly close together, but with enough buffer space for some trees. The men's bathroom/shower was apparently horrific (though clean) but I found the women's adequate. All afternoom there was a lot of noise from the speedway down the road, which was a little annoying, but I guess some people probably like that sort of thing. All in all, we had a good time and I was glad to find such a nice place during the evacuation. Minus a star for the horrible men's room.

If you enjoy the peace of the outdoors find a campsite away from the playground. Bathrooms were clean but soap dispensers did not work and the showers are not all individual stalls in the antioch site. Keep in mind since it is next to a waterway you will smell a weird odor. Also there is a speedway near the park and the noise of the cars are very annoying after sunset till about 8:30 pm.

We've stayed here twice and absolutely LOVE IT! It's very quiet and there is plenty of space in between spots. The pads are all new concrete with nice gravel areas, and a fire ring. The playground is very new and shaded. They keep it very well and are friendly to boot. If you don't like this place, then your just stage 3 picky.
