We stayed in one of the cabins and it was very clean. The cabins had very comfortable beds (still need to bring your own blankets and pillows) and enough shelf space for us to put all of our camping items! Having a microwave and fridge was helpful as well when preparing our food for grilling. Staying in a cabin that was close to the bathrooms, pool, and hot tub is always a plus. We felt like the bathrooms and pool area were kept up very well! (A lot of other campgrounds we have been to don't do that) Didn't really use the rec center or laundry room, but those areas looked nice as well. We really enjoyed using the grills and the campfire pits later in the evening. This campground is also next to a small ranch with horses, but that didn't bother us one bit and there were no bad smells either! Would highly recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Mesa Verde National Park.

Very well run park Accross from the entrance to Mesa Verde. Very helpful and polite staff. The sites aren’t that great though but you’re after the location being so close to the National in Park. I think it be a great place for families. They have a swimming, pool, putt, putt, golf, hot tub, playground, and an awesome gathering room. Next-door to the campground. There’s some horses to that you can go visit and feed.

Great campground near to Mesa Verde National Park. Basically, right across the highway. Pool was closed. Clean showers and bathrooms. Great rec room. They have putt putt golf and a playground. Great stay for families. Would definitely return.

Premium spots are tight. Water and sewer hook ups are right next to the neighbors picnic table. However most are so tired from going to the park they don’t come out! Great stop to see Mesa Verde National Park. Ancient Cedars is very close to the park.

Stopped in for a short one night visit. The standard pull thru sites were pretty tight, and I had to unhook my tow vehicle from behind our 32' class C RV. The bathrooms and laundry room were very clean. You can't beat the location if you want to visit Mesa Verde National Park.

We stayed 2 nights here. Great location for Mesa Verde National Park, literally just across the highway from the RV park. Was worried we’d have road noise, but the park is back off the highway enough so road noise was minimal. Bathrooms were very clean. Always a plus for us. They are expanding the campground so lots of new sites. Will be nice. Our fiends had a standard site. A bit cramped. I’d suggest getting a Deluxe or Premium site for a little breathing room. WiFi was excellent!

We absolutely loved our stay here! We visited in October and stayed in a cabin with 3 young children. Our kids loved all of the amenities: a playground, recreation cabin, mini golf, friendly horses next door. We stayed toasty warm in the cabin despite lows in the 30s, and the bathrooms and showers were kept very clean. You simply cannot beat the location. We could see the Mesa Verde visitors center from our cabin! Thanks for a great stay, Ancient Cedars!

Great campground right across the highway from Mesa Verde NP. When I was checking in, I asked about better sites and the young man suggested a site up in the back. For a few dollars more we had a site that felt more like we were in a national park or state campground than an RV park. Beautiful trees, spacious site, and the neighbors' horses begging for food! Really nice ambiance, very quiet, lots of room, very private. It was a welcome respite from typical RV parks by busy roads and nosey staff. If you go, ask for the sites up in the back with the trees.

Ancient Cedars is literally just a minute away from Mesa Verde National Park. Was a very quiet park and the staff was great. Has mini golf, a swimming pool, and a really big dog park. The RV park isn't fancy but it gets the job done. Would highly recommend staying here.

Located right across from the Mesa Verde National Park entrance and mere minutes from it's visitor center, this RV resort is charming and convenient. They let me arrive after hours and left all the info I needed to get set up. I was told I would get my Sams Club discount in person, so I went down to the office after realizing they already charged my card in the early morning hours. After a few office visits they did give me a cash refund for the discount. One of the reasons I picked the site was because of the hot tub that I was not able to use for various reasons; They keep it closed if: 1. It's going to rain 2. If they are leaving for the day 3. Attendant does not know how to operate. . . So don't be surprised if you don't get to use the hot tub. They do, however, have very clean hot shower facilities with rainfall showerheads. We were able to play some mini golf for a small fee. Which is a decent sized National Park themed course. Their wood sells for a bundle at $11 with no kindling. I did enjoy my stay there, just really wished I could have used that hot tub. Would have been nice after the long hikes and drive. I'd stay again, though, even without the tub.

Ancient Cedars was a perfect base camp while we spent 3 days in Mesa Verde National Park. The cabin was spotlessly clean. The bathrooms and laundry room sparkled. Hot water, flush toilets, picnic tables, a hot tub, and a sky filled with stars made cabin camping a real treat after a day of hiking. We are telling all our friends: ASPEN CEDARS is where you want to stay!

Quiet park right near Mesa Verde. Pretty view. Laundry facilities were nice but a bit pricey at $2 per wash and dry...each. Slips felt like a KOA with the neighbors sewer right outside your front door. Wifi was decent. Playground for kids, pool and hot tub. We didn't use as we were here in late September. Mini golf course. Looked run down. Nice field areas for dogs to run. It's a dark park so the stars were beautiful to see at night. Cortez is about 10 miles away so supplies and errands were easy. All in all it was a very nice stay.

This was such a great place to stay! We rented one of their primitive cabins, just beds, a mini fridge, microwave and TV. It was perfect for what we needed! The grounds were very well kept, mini golf, pool and even horses next door for the kids to look at. I'd definitely recommend to any family looking to visit Mesa Verde national park or just wanting a little get away.

Awesome! Note there is a fire-ban in the area for the foreseeable future due to a multiyear drought, no campfires but charcoal and gas for cooking are ok! Check-out was at 11am but they let us pay $3 an hour for late checkout (we did the Balcony House hike in the NP at 9am, didnt want to pack beforehand). Staff was very accommodating and kind! Awesome showers and adult-only hot tub was perfect after hiking mesa verde. Our tent site had morning and afternoon shade (we paid for an upraded w/e site). Game room cabin looked really fun!

We had a wonderful time at Ancient Cedars RV park. The park was very clean and there was always staff around keeping things clean and maintained. The dog park was wonderful and great for exercising our two big dogs. We didn't get a chance to get on the mini-golf course but it looked really nice and well maintained. The proximity to Mesa Verde National Park (the reason for our stay) can't be beaten, You can't stay any closer without actually being in the park.
