While my husband and I were traveling on vacation, we had a blow out. Unfortunately it was later at night and we could not find any places open except Southern Dixie Auto Repair. When we called the number to see if they were open, a man by the name of Jeff answered. He was not even at the shop But he told us to go to the shop and he would meet us there. He took time out of his night to come replace our tire for us. Not only that but he did it in a very timely manner AND AT A GREAT PRICE!!! I would definitely recommend and would return for any other auto repairs needed!!

We had a blow out headed 65 north on a Sunday evening. Found this business online to tow us and fix the tire. The owner came very quick and repaired the tire at his shop. It took no longer than an hour from the time we got stuck to getting back on the road. Very reasonable price too!! I would definitely recommend Jeff's place to travelers in a roadside emergency. After getting several estimates on front end work On my sons truck I took it to the guys at Southern Dixie Auto Repair. These guys had the best price, and made sure to let us know exactly what they would be doing. They let us know they stand behind their work and even texted to check on us and make sure everything was ok. Couldn’t have asked for better professionalism and service.

My wife and I were returning home (Boaz, Alabama) from Montgomery when our car overheated. We were stuck in traffic but we’re able to pull to the side. We were very close to exit 205. I search on the cell phone for automotive repair shops nearest to us. I was very lucky when we selected Southern Dixie Auto Repair from the list that came up. The man who came to get us and our car was not only very prompt but very nice, helpful and polite. He was there within 15 minutes. When we got to the shop the people there were equally cordial and helpful. While they repaired our car they loaned us a car so that we could get something to eat. We were back on the road home in about 2 hours. If you have to have trouble you could find no place better than Southern Dixie. Good quick service and courteous and helpful people, what more could you ask.

I would drive out of my way to have this shop work on my cars. I had a mystery stall going on and the SUV died on the interstate. Well...I knew I was at someone’s mercy. The town driver recommended this shop. On a Saturday morning, these guys worked for hours troubleshooting and trying to find what was wrong. They went through the fuse panel, vacuum lines, etc. I saw the parts coming out and knew that was legit. I tapped out at noon with the owner running to get a fuel pump. That is a project with a lot of markup as it requires dropping the fuel tank. I left to make the call to see if my kidney was worth anything. On Monday am, they called me and I went to get the truck. Jeff, the owner, said it was really bugging him that there was something else wrong beside the pump and he was personally involved in tracking down an electric ground issue, and they didn’t have to change the fuel pump. Here’s what I think really happened— I saw him leave to go get the part and the truck was on the lift to drop the tank. I think they changed the pump and the problem persisted, so they kept tracking it down until they figured it out. But I was only charged for the diagnosis. I’m talking a couple hundred bucks. They could have so easily charged me for the work and parts performed on the pump and traced the real problem. I’d have never, ever known. They acted in integrity. I am so impressed. I met everyone in the shop. Owner, wife, admin, front counter, mechanics- they were all so very friendly and authentic. This shop actually made breaking down fun again. I could not more enthusiastically recommend a business of any kind than this group of people at Dixie.

Southern Dixie is a great place you can count on. They were able to fix my mom's car which another shop could not. The people there are very friendly and really care about their customers. They make you feel like family. They don't give up when trying to fix your car. They work really hard until all issues are resolved, making sure you are a happy customer. I would recommend them every time.

Can’t say enough good things about the folks at Southern Dixie Auto, they are kind, honest and extremely helpful. The owner Jeff was so nice when he answered my call on Saturday night to request assistance as our car was broke down on I-65. After giving him our location and describing our problem (which was the electronic throttle control system) he said he would send a truck out to us. He told me the driver would take us to a hotel, gave me a run down on area hotels and he would call in his mechanic to look at our vehicle in the morning (on a Sunday)!!! Will, our tow guy, was great and very friendly. He picked us up on Sunday to bring us to the shop to get our vehicle. The prices were extremely reasonable, much lower than I expected! We were up and running again by Sunday afternoon and on our way home to NY. I highly recommend Southern Dixie Auto. If I lived closer I’d be a repeat customer for sure. Thanks Jeff, Will and the mechanic for getting us back on the road and showing us true southern hospitality!

Jeff ensured that my mom and 3 grandkids were safe and off the road quickly. My mom had been waiting on the side of the interstate for her roadside assistance to arrive, 3 hours later no one had arrived. I called Jeff and he immediately went to help her. The car was towed back to the shop and they were taken care of in a timely manner. It was reassuring knowing someone took action quickly. The price was reasonable as well. From the bottom of my heart thank you for what you do!!

I went here yesterday, I had a tire blowout in the middle of nowhere travelling back from the beach. The tow truck there in under thirty minutes of my call. AAA said they would take over an hour! The owner of Southern Dixie Auto Repair had my car fixed and ready to go in another half hour in his shop. Really impressive, considering it was a Sunday night at around 8, and there was nobody else there helping him. He made absolutely sure I would have a safe drive for the rest of my trip. Very friendly man, and a comforting presence after the stress of a tire blowout. I really don't know what I would have done without Southern Dixie Auto Repair!

I HIGHLY recommend Jeff Melton and his crew at Southern Dixie....5 stars! After experiencing a transmission issue with our Honda Pilot on I-65 near Jemison, AL on a Saturday afternoon we called for roadside assistance, and one of Jeff's wrecker's was dispatched and took our car and my family back to his shop, where the problem was quickly diagnosed. What I feared was a serious and expensive issue turned out to be a simple fix, and Jeff had us back on the road that evening. And instead of taking advantage of us and our situation, the cost of the repair was VERY fair and reasonable. This was a Saturday evening when their shop was already closed, but Jeff knew how important it was to us to continue on our trip that day, so he did what needed to be done. My family and I truly appreciate his assistance, and won't forget the kindness he and his wife showed us while we waited on the repair. THANK YOU!

AC compressor locked up causing serpentine belt to break near I 65. AAA towed me there to Southern Dixie. Theresa is an absolutely ANGEL. She had parts waiting for us when we arrived. Team work on it immediately. 3 hours later we were on our way. Prices were very reasonable. Seems like a wonderful and reputable business. Highly recommended.

HOLY LIFESAVERS!!! A few hundred miles into my 1000 mile trip back to Ohio from the beach, Southern Dixie saved my butt... at 1am. I got a flat tire and was told by triple a that no one was avaliable. I was going to miss class and my boyfriend would have missed work, so so so thankful for these kindhearted people who came out of their sleep to put a new Tire on for me! They didn't even tow me and still came out for me. Would 100% recommend them, very good prices and most importantly, true southern hospitality.

The owner was extremely helpful and kind. He was able to come in early to tow me from the side of I-65 after my tire blew out. Several other companies were called by my insurance and gave them some difficulties, but as soon as he was called he was there in less than 30 min. Which after waiting on a dark interstate for 2 hours was a very welcome sight. I only wish my insurance had called Southern Dixie Auto Repair earlier.

Broke down Saturday afternoon right after New Years. Travelling back from Florida to Michigan. Not many mechanics open on Saturday at 400pm, but Jeff answered my call. Said he could take a look at it and was not far away with his tow truck. Back at the repair shop for about 15 minutes when he informed me it was the fuel pump. He would be able to get part tomorrow and make the repair. I was surprised, because his sign out front did not list any hours for Sunday. He recommended a hotel that was flanked by some restaurants and a bar and he drove us down there. Sunday morning comes and he calls, the part won't be in until 400pm then it'll take about an hour to fix. But about 330pm, he calls and says the part came in early and my car is ready. And he's coming to pick me up from the motel. If he wouldn't have been willing to work on a Sunday, i would've had to miss work and incurred another motel night. Thank you Jeff. One downside, it's a small town, there's no shopping around for price. But checking once I got home, his price was just slightly above average. Worth it, for the Sunday service though.

Such amazing southern Hospitality. My family and I were traveling back from Alabama to Tennessee after visiting my inlaws. We stopped for a bite to eat and the car wouldn't start back up. We jumped the battery, even bought a new battery and changed it out. Still nothing. While I was on the phone to My insurance company trying to get a tow my mother in law (who was following us back) called Southern Dixie as they were minutes up the road. They ended up arriving first and towing are car to their shop that was already closed. Brought us in got the part and fixed it all with in a few hours. I know it didn't mean much to them to stay a little after close but it meant the world to us especially traveling with a 2 year old. We are forever going to be thankful of this awesome Auto Repair shop. Very trustworthy! They opened their door and invited us in like family.
